These exercises are fantastic. I'm 72 and have had 2 hip replacements. Balance, stability and core exercises have become extremely important to me, especially as they relate to my doing Tai Chi. Thank you!

I used to do Tai Chi and have even taught to seniors. But in last 4-5 years, pain got the best of me and I did no exercise at all. I'm now making an effort to regain strength, flexibility and balance. But I wasn't keen on starting with the form. These exercises are PERFECT for me to start with. Oh I pray I'll keep with it and when feeling stronger go back to actual Tai Chi movements. Thank you for this, and being free since I have financial challenges.

Thank you for your perseverance in teaching your "way". Sadly, I just watched a vid from a so-called lady master which criticized you. Especially your "certification program". Money? I find her criticism very shallow because she also makes money from teaching. I have been studying (no teaching) martial arts for some time and know of the useless rivalry among Asian martial arts. ( because of an injury , I can just do the Yang 8 form Tai Chi- different from yours.) Anyway, from what I saw of your videos, they are informative and looks safe and healthy to do. Just disregard/ignore that stressed-out "stressbender lady" and continue what you believe will help people. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and kind response. My goal is to help people feel better and move better by including Tai Chi in their lives.

I learned Tai chi online using Diane's method and had the honor of attending in person instruction a couple of times in her studio when visiting the area. I currently offer free classes (for now) and encourage students to find the best in-person master (for them) to expand their knowledge and experience beyond my introductory training. I also provide online links to multiple resources to help people understand the range of styles and teaching methods. For me, Open the Door offers the most options for all skill levels. I too have watched some online trashing and I have no use for negativity. It's very anti-Tai chi! Anyone that learns the basics from Open the Door can use that knowledge to join most local classes, combing the two. Works for me! Note to Diane: I had great concern about my inability to perform decent kicks in your studio, but when I returned to my sea level home, everything was fine. Your mile high location requires adaptation for those of us that are not used to the elevation!
