I had never heard of this individual prior to watching the video. One thing I noticed was that he almost always initiates his push when his partner is moving forward and has one foot already off the ground. That simplifies things a bit.

not so. many pushes are initiated from static position. bu even so it dont matter cause this demonstrates the timing of the opponents force and use of momentum that Tai-chi is famous for.
