I call Mr Kimura ( Mr Chainsaw), Taiga ( Mr Hacksaw). The vision and skill to take so many branches off such an old tree and make it beautiful is truly an artist.
I am from tropical country, still try to make each bonsai from seed i.e ficus, tamarin ect. From this video I learn to imagine art of bonsai... Arigatoo... Gambate... Terima kasih

A bit late but the guy wire was not on the plastic? Why did you not put a small stick between the guy wire and twist until the branch is at the level you want?

U was right must of missed the plastic thing lol no point put the plastic when not even use it.

It is nice to see that they add a third dimension when deciding the position of the tree. In many of the presentations I see the pot is inclined so that the tree is tilted. My question is how long after this work do they repot it? That must be another hand full of work!
@Torabonsaischool6 жыл бұрын
This tree is from a collection I am taking care off. Unfortunately, this tree will never be potted in position as Taiga planed at this demonstration. The reason is simple: because it is impossible. Sadly many demonstrations end like this - without thinking on the future of tree, and future poting ...
@joint-heirwithchrist52416 жыл бұрын
Was thinking the same thing... How can a "master" not think of that?
@Torabonsaischool6 жыл бұрын
Because the demonstrations are simply a show, watched mainly by beginners. And one must show a "finished" product ...
@MarcelMilcent6 жыл бұрын
Couldn't you go slowly shifting it over the years, as you repot it?
@Torabonsaischool6 жыл бұрын
As I said before - in this case this is impossible. It is hard to explain without seeing the tree in nature. But nebari of this pine is actually a hook, a bend, and all the roots are in upper part of the box, behind the tree. Even when Taiga finished his work, the tree was lying way back, the crown was way back behind the nebari. This couldn't be seen on this footage, but in real is like this. If the tree would be plant in the position, all the roots would be in the air ...

i absolutely love ur videos and am looking into bonsai as a new hobby. im obsessed with junipers but based on a proffesional standpoint whats a good plant or tree to start practicing on thats small and cheap? I can tell with bonsai it doesnt come natural and hands on experience is the best way to learn. Also im trying to search this music haha what is CMA?

That look's amazing when would be the best time to work on a bonsai like this spring ?
@Potawatomi136 жыл бұрын
For(most)conifers it is normally late fall and winter time before sap starts flowing in spring. For deciduous it depends.

por que en los pinos se alambra con cobre y en otro tipo de arobles con aluminio?
@marcoruiz31087 жыл бұрын

@bonsaiempire9 жыл бұрын
+Mary Lee Boyd Yes, after a few months.
@Potawatomi136 жыл бұрын
Well actually for big branches and drastic bends it can be several years even if sometimes needing changed periodically because of girdling. Small branches with not such drastic bends perhaps a year.

Taiga is very skillful.
@dcharrison31405 жыл бұрын
My thoughts on cutting off the branches, I didn’t care for ! I would have made Air layering on those branches and sat it back until they took root and made small bonsais out of them and continue later. That’s what I would have told my audience.
