Curious question: Why is the kaman so deep if you are baring the load? Wouldn't your legs get tired?
@YasuragiDojo4 жыл бұрын
Rafael, this is a good question. The point I am trying to really bring forward is that often times load bearing equipment can be top-heavy and thus the practitioner should have a wider base to offer better stability while in motion. To do this, it means they must lower their hips. To control the momentum generated in motion of additional weight, the legs must be strong and aligned; knees tracking proper, etc. To control this, you simply need a deeper stance. The second point is simply strength and over all health of the legs. These movements will build the strength necessary to move more fluid with load bearing equipment, and over time advance the range of motion in the students legs. I hope I was able to answer your question.

I think that all those ancient techniques that were practiced with armor, modern masters should have preserved it to teach it to advanced students but only in order to preserve a tradition and no longer as modern martial arts for self defense since their techniques would be obsolete and not applicable for a modern world.

Can't disagree with your point R NIN. I'd say the same with much of the classical weaponry I teach as well. Chances are much greater that you will use the principles taught in moving the body under stress of load bearing equipment (ie. Armor, LBE, field gear, chest rig, firefighter, etc.) where someone may face aggression, versus using a Edo Period police truncheon or iron fan; but we teach those ... Nowhere in anything that I teach within my Dojo has a primary outcome of 'self defense' - that is an outcome of mental and physical training, less tactical, reality based stress scenarios. So I agree with your point, but it's not really pointed at why I teach martial arts or what is being presented in this video. Excellent point you bring forward and good discussion that is meaningful. Thank you, Adam.

@@YasuragiDojo great come back. Have you not realised there is no ninja unarmed combat and all the sticks and stars and straight blades have no historical evidence....Its all just a money making scheme from the purple haired conman...

@Feather Men ... Look, I have no idea who you are or what your issue is with me - but I'm pretty simple. You have an issue with what I teach or me personally, then let's have some dignified dialogue. I honor and respect criticism. But if you're going to be a name-calling little bitch, then I'm going to simply ignore you. On the other hand 'Feather Men', if you have a legitimate beef with me, something I said or did, then please feel free to visit my Dojo. Anytime. I don't hide. Regarding your ninja comments; I have no stake in anything with purple hair or straight swords. If you're referring to Hatsumi Sensei, I've never met the man so therefore your diatribe is better served over on a channel that will give you the response you're after. It ain't here.
