The flood tides have been fun, the reds have been hungry! As always, excellent job sir!

Thank you and they really have! It feels kinda like a snow day did as a kid but pulling up to a flooded parking lot LOL. Even getting to the launch becomes an adventure!

That’s an amazing experience to take videos of the reds in the flooded areas of the marsh, if only it wasn’t windy haha. Also awesome big red you landed, appreciate you going over your presentation too I got to try those Texas style jig heads out

Thank you! The wind has been so annoying the last few weeks LOL. Really wanting to get out with the fly rod but anything over 10mph is a no go. I do really like the Texas eye jig heads for the marsh red fish. Only issue with them is the way you have to rig a plastic on there. Normal plastics might get pretty tore up, that’s why I only use the z mans with them. But I do love when I accidentally cast into thick shore grass being able to get it out every time with ease🤙🏼

We hit Wallace's and Back yesterday and only managed some speck on the day. We saw them, we just didn't connect. That place is special!

Right on man! Wallace’s is an awesome shop. The couple that runs it are great people too. I’m ready for the water clarity to improve already haha

@@1stTide it was hazy at best on Saturday. The couple was wonderful! Gave recommendations and insights on what sees success out there. I'll be headed back soon!

Awesome Video and yep they go shallow no matter where you are, and one to two feet of water is where you'll find them a lot of the time. I'm from the upper Texas Gulf Coast and Red's are my passion, especially from a Kayak (Old Town Autopilot 120) now and on the lower Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. I did the flood tide last weekend at Point Lookout but didn't see what you experienced. I'm gonna have to get down to Virginny for a change. Try Buggs Fishing for lures that won't spook these rascals. Again, Awesome Video!

Thank you for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed this trip! Also thanks for the advice Ill have to look those Buggs lures up! I want to say I looked at some of the videography on your channel and I love the shots you get. Especially the ducks, did a bit of duck hunting over the years and would sometimes try to film the teal I would have land in the decoys right at sunrise 🤙🏼 keep up the good work!

Cool video! Those king tides were crazy, I filmed the edge of the tide crossing the trail out at Grandview last weekend. Do you ever go to the piers at Fort Monroe? The trout are starting to bite there and the reds will be mixed in soon. Last year we were catching fish on almost every cast and we tagged 100s there. You might want to give it a try. The lower pier on the left rail just past the rocks is the spot. You'll see people casting jigs. Are you still catching flounder? My buddy caught one about 16.5" off the pier a couple days ago. I hope to get out and catch some before they go away or it's too cold for me. My buddy can't go out in the yaks this weekend so I'll be stuck on land. It's tough launching my kayak solo.

Thank you again for tuning and and sharing🤙🏼 I have tried once off of the pier but didn't have too much luck :( I havent caught too many flatties over the last few weeks but I have been targeting more marshes. My wife did get a 15ish one out on the James.

How deep is the water your fishing in

The marsh that was in was 1-3’ with creek channels 3’-6’🤙🏼

I bet if you posted where you launch you’d get more engagement. As a new kayak fisherman I see so many people struggling like I do… love kayak fishing but don’t know where tf to launch on bodies of water like our rivers. Id be interested to see how a vid with minimal fishing action and just visiting your favorite launches would do.
@1stTide3 ай бұрын
Sorry I didn’t include more of that in the video. I mentioned Wallace’s bait and tackle briefly, but there is an excellent four lane boat ramp there, and a kayak launch dock. I’m not sure where you’re located but I mainly use public boat ramps. Also any public beach you’d probably be allowed to launch on. Another thing would be to knock on someone’s door if they’ve got good access to the water. Not everyone will say yes but not everyone will say no. Also check out the TKAA group on FB. They have a long long community made list of kayak launches🤙🏼

@@1stTide I couldn’t find Wallace’s bc I was looking at the wrong Back River. I’m in Anne Arundel county. Our rivers are tough.

you can figure it out if you listen. He said Wallaces Bait and Tackle. I googled it and bingo. Found it.
