Sometimes it isn't possible. The waist lands at the widest part of your body. The armholes come down too far. There isn't enough space at the hip level.

I’m 5’1 and about a size 10-14 depending on brand and fit that I like. I also love thrifty and second hand and I always get my clothes tailored. It makes a world of difference is the look or clothes. Maxi and midi lengths actually elongate short women when worn correctly and is tailored right.

I have small feet as well and can't ever find heels. This is a huge challenge when it comes to choosing clothes. Living in Canada limits selection even more and brands like Sam Edelman are no longer making shoes below size 5 as they used to.

This was extremely helpful!!! I just texted my alterations lady😉. I am 5’5” and have a high waist/long legs so my tops often are too low for my bust. Thank you for the affirmation that this is not all that unusual! I have 5 tops that can be easily taken up at the shoulder and I am wondering why I have put up with this for so long 😂

My waist is the largest part of me, no hips, no butt. How can I alter baggy legs and leave the waist alone?

How about just not purchasing pieces that dont work and learn how to tailor your own clothes?....

I am five feet tall and pear shaped. Big buttocks and thighs. Tops are too narrow at the bottom. Jeans and trousers are very loose at the front and pull down at the back. Solution: sew my own clothes. After adjusting the pattern, because commercial patterns are drafted to fit normally proportioned women.
