I’d love to see a second video where he goes into detail about all the “Ontario mods” he mentioned.

Hey Finally getting around to reading the comments here. The Ontario Mods as they are referred to by the builders can be found on The Murphy Builders Site. Just google it, you’ll have to sign up like with most groups.

Real Nice Video! I've got a Panther LS, but a Murphy Rebel like Paul's looks it would be a Ton of Fun too! Wouldn't mind a follow-up about Flying the Rebel.

I took a serious look at the Rebel and the Elite about 20 years ago and actually flew one but in the end I was turned off by the Avex rivets. I know, everybody uses them now but I just couldn't accept the appearance.

is there a secret file we can ask [with out the wife finding out ] the time and financial out lay ?. And what a job [ that means great video Brian , thanks ,keeps the 'need a plane' juices flowing ,and a bit of plane bit green nv ]. and be nice to always put in basics, stall, VNE , cruise, GPH , take off and landing rolls ,,range ,tank options , how much gear it will carry [ looks like you could sleep in the back of that one ?, a bit of a consideration vs a frame and fabric construction ] ,would save all of us doing it ..we might get in trouble accidentally pressing the buy now button on the web site ....

Rebel Brian does an awesome job going from my unprofessional beebling to such a great video !!! Performances can be found once again by joining The Rebel Builders Site. Numbers for specific models are all over the charts. I typically saw rotation at 45 mph on wheels 52 mph on floats, cruise of 100 mph slightly less on floats, over the fence at 55 mph, lands at 45 on wheels. Rebel doesn’t need flaps on wheels, always at least 1 notch on floats. Mine are typically about 950 lbs empty so a useful of just under 700 lbs. Many Rebels are in fact built as campers with a finished floor. Have done some awesome trips with my Boykin Spaniel to RAF Fly-Ins.

@@micreb thanks for that , a few interesting ideas spring to mind ,with this one . a bit counter intuitive floats being hard on structures crashing [ in a survivable and controlled manner ..] into water ,cf soft wheels on actual concrete . I drew up a future sail craft back at school , where I thought we'd end up [sail rocket and the current ac cup boats are getting close ], but it had suspension ,and surface running lifters ,[foils are slow ].They are making power boats now running on suspended floats . And he mentions glue/sealing the suspension fairings , has anyone glued the whole thing ? could use less rivets .We are now gluing the sail tracks on masts ,eliminates stress points of holes ,and any vibration wear .

The only music I’m aware of is called the Mocking Bird that insists on trying to nest anywhere around my hanger……They are the Florida state bird & also a frigging nuisance…. Darn near took my dogs eye out ….
