Stick and rudder taildragger is by far the most fun. Makes you feel like you''re a pilot from the beginning of aviation. That Super D deserved to be flown rubber side up for a bit.

Hayley, this was so much fun for me, I can only imagine what it was like for you! Such a great aircraft to do tail wheel work in. Dropping down and following the river, you could have done that all day and I’d still be watching. The excitement on your face was over the top and the music during that sequence (life is a highway), perfect! Thanks for taking me along!

Fun learning the way a tail wheel responds to the control input. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve got to fly the former Patty Wagstaff Super Decathlon and got my Tailwheel experience in flying for the first time a Piper Super Cruiser from the back seat and now I can’t get enough of flying Taildraggers

I’m so jealous! I was learning how to fly in a super decathlon 20 years ago. Then my instructor got hired off by the industry as did my other two instructors - hence my long reprieve. But - hey I’m back at it in August and cross my fingers will someday fly in a super decathlon again - maybe even learn some acrobatics. Thanks for sharing Haley. You are so inspiring.

I got my tail wheel sign off 11 years ago and haven’t flown one until last month. I was in a super cruiser and it was a little bit of a refresher, but for the most part, you don’t forget tail wheel basics. Flying tail wheel procedure and technique in a tricycle gear makes you a better pilot. Urge everyone that has access to one to at least experience one or two hours and 10 landings in one of these.

I just flew that section of river from Markleeville back to town on Saturday. There were some rafters that got a pretty good look at the dirty belly of my plane! Good times. I need to get my tailwheel endorsement here soon!

Flying the Super Decathlon was some of the best times I had during flight school. Did my tailwheel in a Super Cub, then aerobatics in the Decathlon.

Nice video. Wish you showed cameras outside the airplane. Don’t mind the occasional look at the pilots reaction, but outside more would’ve been nice.
