Can someone please explain the movement demonstrated at 1:00?
@GKCgoju4 жыл бұрын
The movement is an application for the double elbow movement in Seiyunchin kata. Does this help?

No rank, style, association or any other requirement. The belt you refer to is simply a rather old black belt. Thanks for your comment.

These look like some versions of Wing Chun techniques. Are there any connections between Goju Ryu and Wing Chun???
@GKCgoju7 жыл бұрын
Goju like wing chun is derived from mostly older regional Chinese fighting arts so no doubt there is some crossover. More significantly however all combat methods are faced with the same problems and therefore some of the solutions are going to look similar.

Thank you for the explanations ;) The same body mechanics and similar roots indeed make it look similar to wing chun chi sao exercises.

@@GKCgoju Good answer, sensei! Besides, I think, there is a common basis for Goju Ryu and Wing Chun: White Crane Kungfu. Sanchin kata exists almost in a similar form in White Crane Kungfu.

one of the major root styles of Gojuryu is whooping, white and Feeding crane fist. According to my sifi those are also the roots of Wing Chun.

The application of force and energy in Wing Chun is almost exactly opposite to White Crane and was purportedly founded to counter hard shaolin

It's amazing how I can tell this guy knows how to move after just seconds of watching him. He can definitely hurt you.
@nevergiveup31984 жыл бұрын
Taira Sensei and Sensei Enfield both can do the job of hurting. It goes against Chojun Miyagi beliefs to use Goju ryu in a wrong manner.

Please do not take this the wrong way,but what was the rank requirement to attend this seminar? The gentleman at 4:55 with the glasses,looks like he is wearing a white belt,but he moves like an advanced karateka. Great video,and thanks.
