eh, this video so familiar leh... like see before like that...😜😁 The "MOVIE" thing should be cuz of dialects... people say (in Hokkien) "lai, wa lang ki kua hee"... so kua hee = 看戏 mah. Even in Cantonese, it's "ngo dei hoi tai hei"... the "tai hei" is again 看戏.. As a very young boy (3 to 5 yrs old) I remember ever hearing old folks referring to movies as "dian gia hee" (电子戏 ?) to differentiate between movies and those wayangs (stage performances of Chinese operas) It's very similar to "put petrol into the car" thing lah... 打油 (PAH YOU) and not 添油... ps - regarding one of your TikTok hor... I also agree that Singapore Pools should be a swimming pool, or a chain of swimming pools managed by the govt 😂🤣😂🤣

Hahaha so familiar meh? 🤔 it’s a fresh content though! Oh that’s why it’s 看戲? Wahahaha Singapore pools really got me when I came to Singapore 🤣🤣🤣

@@AN9ELHSU Hahaha the movie thing hor, is I am making a guess la... seems like the most logical reason why it's 看戏 here lor. As I said, I was alive during the time when "a show" means a wayang performance of Chinese Opera (mostly in Teochew and Hokkien, but even those Teochew and Hokkien I hear already also cannot understand one 🤣😂🤣), so the uncles and aunties have to say "dian gia hee" to mean the new modern thing called a "film" (now called "movies"). Over the years, since no more wayangs, so I guess no need to specify "dian gia hee" already, so everything is "kua hee" 😁 Also, you very funny in the video when they start to do the 超级白 Supermarket....😁😂😁😂🤣😂
