Wow, so brave for you two to have mango shaved ice during the winter days... some young Taiwanese say that it’ll be another feeling having shaved ice in winter, you two just make it! So cool you guys are :) So Luke, you’ll be here in Taiwan till March? Or you’ll move from China to Indonesia in March? It’s so nice to see foreign friends trying our local food; old Taipei has its specialty of food, history and culture, the Datong District you picked is absolutely one of the best part you can discover things with ancient atmosphere. Wanhua is another. You can try to find other food over there... Longshen Temple is also in that district. If you want to try classic southern Taiwan street food, you two can visit Tainan. If you want to try Hakka food(which is another ethic group of Taiwan, speaking different Chinese dialects), you can visit Hsinchu(especially Chutong, Hsinpu, Guanshi or Beipu. These are different areas of Hsinchu counties),Miaoli, or Mainong of Kaohsiung city. I love Hakka food so need to recommend you guys here. We have also aboriginal ppl living in the inner and the east part of Taiwan who make different flavor of food. If possible, try them. You’ll be amazed :) Btw, I also love Nasi Kerabu so much. I ate it when I was traveling by myself in Kelantan, northeast side of Malay peninsula. Now I still fish it, especially the blue rice with raw beans and good-smelling dry fish floss ❤️

Hey luke and sabrina. im excited to hear that u guys want to visit Indonesia soon. i have some places and authentic food that u guys should try n many attractive places too that u should to visit. i will make it on a list: 1. Bali, of course u already heard about this exotic island u can explore around bali using motorcycle n the best place to stay is ubud and kuta, many cheap hotel there. if u love nice environment quite n fresh weather u can stay on Ubud. BUt if u like crowded places, near beaches u can stay on kuta. And the food that u must to try on bali is Babi Guling its a suckling pig n served with rice, and then nasi campur, ayam betutu. 2. Yogyakarta, this place is memorable place for me n maybe for everyone that have been visited this city. In yogyakarta there r many foreigner like u same like bali too, u can find many historical places like borobudur temple, prambanan temple, yogyakarta palace that show about javanese culture like gamelan, javanese dance, etc. And food that u have to try is Gudeg. 3. if u love durians u can visit medan in north sumatera u can visit ucok durian that serve any kind of durian. And u can visit lake toba the largest lake in indonesia. 4. Bromo and kawah ijen they r in east java. And many places that i cant tell u here hahaha cause many attractive place n food here in Indonesia. we have many culture too. so hope u guys can stay n enjoy in Indonesia or maybe u can check Mark Wiens channel if u curious about Bali's food see you

Hi Luke, I can't wait for your video when you and sabrina traveling to Indonesia. I want to suggest you to try Balinese food first. They have incredibly delicious foods. They use a lot of seasoning in their food. My favorites foods in Bali are babi guling, ayam betutu, sate orob, lawar, and so many other different kinds of food. And if you want to visit Central Borneo, I am so happy to be your guide 😁. We have so many delicious fish here.

Hi Luke and Sabrina, when I get food poisoning, I take liquid grapefruit seed extract in water and sometimes also activated charcoal. If you talk to a naturopath or a herbalist or Chinese medicine doctor, perhaps he or she can tell you about grapefruit seed extract. Be careful out there! And thanks for the fun videos! One of the reasons I love your videos is you both seem really nice and I like both of your voices very much - guess you were both blessed with good voice genes. You must also be skilled editors too.

You should def try some of the iconic Indonesian food when you get there such as beef rendang, nasi goreng, mie goreng, pempek, opor ayam, soto ayam, sop buntut (oxtail soup), sate, gado-gado, babi guling in Bali, martabak, gulai, sayur asem. Gosh, too many too mention lol. Hope you get to experience the amazing array of the food we have. ;-)

Recently discovered your channel and the videos I've seen so far are really interesting and insightful. Got a lot to catch up on. Hope you're still accepting questions because I got a few: 1. For how long can you stay in Taiwan per your visa restrictions? I know for stays less than 90 days, you don't need a visa if you're from certain countries like the U.S. But looks like you are staying longer than that. Do you need to leave Taiwan every so often for your visa requirements? 2. How do you communicate with locals? Are you able to speak Chinese Mandarin? If not, I'm curious how you're able to get around and just generally live there without being able to speak or read the language. If so, you need to speak some in your videos so we can see how well you do it. 3. In some of your videos, I've seen that you've been able to film behind the scenes how food is being prepared and cooked. How are you able to convince the owners or restaurants to allow you to film this? Did you ask them in Chinese or English? I imagine some places must have turned you down, but seems a lot don't mind maybe because they think you're giving them free publicity?

Looking forward to your indonesia adventure, try to go off beaten path, not just the same places like Bali again. Try visit eastern part like Manado in North Sulawesi island. Their culture is more christian based with dutch influences. Their food is also one of best in Indonesia, they have great pork and seafood dishes. They also have national marine park with beautiful coral reef called Bunaken, since you are into diving and marine stuff. Then you can easily go to Raja Ampat in Papua, very pristine and beautiful beaches with small islands. Those 2 places have less western tourists, but I guarantee they are very beautiful
