The only reason the US would go to war over Taiwan would be if they told Taiwan to declare independence and then they actually did it. There is only one China for one reason. Taiwan would end up worse than Ukraine if they let themselves be used as a pawn. If you don't want to be chinese in the near future there is an option to emigrate maybe to Japan, SK, Austrailia or USA...

This is not a good assessment. Ukraine is not a US ally or trade partner. Ukraine had no treatise with the US. This is the complete opposite with Taiwan. Ukraine has actually cost many of America’s biggest security issues: 1) Proliferation of ballistic missile technology 2) Aircraft carriers to China 3) US deficit spending. The US backs Ukraine to show that it: 1) backs Democracies 2) wants to oppose the changing of borders by military force3) is in solidarity with its European partners.

For Trump to show sincerity towards China for talks and better relationship, Trump should drop the anticipated tariffs and appoints China friendly Republicans for official roles, eg, remove extremely anti-China blokes like the Rubio guy for state secretary and the fox news commentator for defense secretary, etc. No point for Chinese president to attend the inauguration then got into intense heated discussions accusing one another.
