Hi miss Lin., i just learn about ur this vlog and im starting to like it. I prefer to learn taiwanese mandarin coz i live here.,its just that the sound is inconsistent. Sometimes its so loud and sometimes i cant hear. Thank u😊
@Goodmorningroosterlive4 жыл бұрын
I'm a musician so I know what you are talking about. Compression. This takes your louder sounds and makes them a little bit quieter. And it takes your quiet sounds and makes them a little bit louder. It brings everything closer together in volume a bit more. Compression is part of the post processing step. Once you record a video or audio recording, a step after that would be called post processing. During this step you could easily run the audio through a compressor on your computer. There are other ways to use a compressor but the computer with the correct software can easily compress audio. This host is a language teacher so she obviously couldn't be expected to know about recording and post processing. So we should all just deal with it because the video is really good.

Do you think these are more commonly used by females than males? I don’t find myself say “o” a lot and I’m Taiwanese. But then again, I immigrated to the US when I was 18 so maybe I don’t know?
@MandarinWithMissLin3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the context and who you talk to. Like the example in the video, doctors in Taiwan either make or female often use 喔 when talking to patients especially children or elderly to soften the tone. For example 要吃藥喔 remember to take the medicine:)

Is there any gender based used of words in chinese? Like the masculinity or the femininity of words. Examples, in a situation where most of the time, like the females are always used this kind of phrase, or words, or sentences?
@@MandarinWithMissLin I followed them and some fanpages of Taiwanese government/ministries on Facebook, they're really good at communicating their programs to the public with humor, mascots, and comic sketches, really different from other countries.
