Wow! I LOVE this talk. I have just about to publish a book, subtitled a post-Holocaust, post-War RANT . . . in which I argue that the destructive side of humans, if we look at all the genocides and mass murders etc. on the planet, is NOT "inhuman" . . . but in fact comes from a UNIVERSAL side of humanity which raises its ugly head in different places at different time . . . Ruanda, Nazi Germany, the Cambodian Killing Fields, the Ibo massacres etc. etc. The "inhumanity" is actually very "human". And here Taiye encourages the better parts of our natures to manifest themselves in a way where we, as "locals" become world citizens. Great insights here!

Very intellectually stimulating thoughts. Echoes well with an Indian philosophy of 'Vasudevaya Kutumbhkam' meaning the Entire World is one Family.
