My sister is a blues singer and started Double Trouble with Stevie. They were first called Triple Threat Review with bassist W.C. Clark. When W.C. Left the band , Stevie and Lou Ann Barton renamed it Double Trouble. Stevie and Lou parted ways in 1980. Stevie was a great guy and a good friend. When Taj came to the forefront i began following him since he was 9.

First time I saw Taj was on a KZbin video of AGT (Australia's Got Talent). I was so TAKEN by his performance of Purple Rain that I had to look him up & see if this youngster was going places or just someone with a little Talent trying to see where he'd go. I'm getting ready to see him in concert & meet him & his amazing family!! I'll be 56 in November & it's like a child waiting for X-mas to get here I'm that excited!! I wish THE BEST for Taj & his family!! When his mama was pregnant with him, God sprinkled her belly with TALENT, SOLE & PURE GOODNESS!! Can't wait to see this OUTSTANDING young man rock that guitar!!

That is really amazing to me is he's been on tour almost 2 years in u.s. and each show he grows more and more with no signs of leting up its amazing and fun to watch the energy just pours out much like SRV he never seems lost or drys up if that makes sense

Some have praised him as a reincarnate Stevie Ray Vaughn. He is one of few guitarists of any age that deserves such praise. Although his original foundation was rock he may well be the best young blues guitarist on the planet. This video was from his 2022 tour of the USA and he just did an all blues tour in March 2023.

Glad you enjoyed it. We go with science here at UH, and studies have shown strong links between genetics and these unique abilities. But we believe wholeheartedly that to be this good, you need a combination of nature and nurture. Even a person with perfect pitch can't name a note before they've learned the musical scale. He certainly has progressed through the years, for sure. It's amazing that he came from Australia, and tracked down SRV's gravesite. How many people have that kind of dedication to their craft? You commented that he's better than most guitarists you know. I was saying that when he was 9. He is truly gifted. I follow a young girl from China named Yo Yo, and I have followed her since she was 9. You might want to check her out. I think she was 8 in the first video I saw from her, and I can't recall if it was Steve Vai, or Yingwei, I believe it was Yingwie, but she nailed it! At 8! She was playing Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Andy James, Joe Satriani, etc., all before she was 10. Just an amazing talent.

He just played at the Byron Bay Blues fest in Australia for 4 days. Each day the audience got larger and larger. Hid dad said he played one day to approximately 15,000 people. He is booked for some big blues festivals in the US, opening a few shows for Buddy Guy and is going to be one of the performers on Joe Bonamassa's blues cruise next year. He's definitely getting recognized for his talent. He's also had 4 #1original songs on the iTunes worldwide blues charts this past year, Crossroads, Cruz, Bad Trip and House Always Wins. He's getting some younger people starting to recognize his talent.
