Thank you for your immediate answer. How are the roads, I have seen that stones can drop onto the car. Are the roads wide enough, my wife is anxious when the roads are to small and almost to slip down as seen in south America. Kind regards gerhard
@Amazmaz5 жыл бұрын
Hi Gerhard. Most part of the roads is... very very bad ;-) though not too narrow. As you can see in the video, even big trucks drive - or should I say 'crawl' - through the Pamirs (but not the Wakhan). Landslides are common, especially when it's raining.

Hi. Lovely video and a real adventure. Could you please tell me which navigation aids you used? Specially for the remote tracks you followed?
@Amazmaz4 жыл бұрын
Hi Manmohan, first of all we relied on our intuition ;-). Addtionally we used a Garmin GPSMap 276Cx with Open Street Map and the app PocketEarth on iPad with Open Street Map. Anyway, navigation on the Silk Road and its detours is pretty straightforward. No special challenges to expect.

I had 25L in the main tank and carried an additional 40L in 10L canisters, as I didn't know for sure where to find it after leaving Turkey. With hindsight, I would take only one or two canisters. Check my website about where to find AdBlue: museoverland.com/truckstuff/euro-vi/

90L in the main tank, 160L in the custom made additional tank on the left of the chassis. 3x20L jerrycans at the back of the chassis. To avoid the less quality diesel in Usbekistan, we took an additional 2x20L plastic jerrycans that we kept in the storage space.
