Bahaha, Octo reading the Hotel Transylvania fanfic was one of the best parts of this episode. Right up there with Gruul trying to convince Audrey that she should get with Remy. Vax made for a very interesting class mix, you don't get many rogue assassin go paladin but path of vengeance made sense story wise. Plus his damage reduction made his buffs last alot more then they otherwise would.

If you see mistakes or may have a better Idea of some stats, just say something in the comments of an episode or time stamp that would help make this more accurate. Thank you.

For narrative purposes it makes sense. If one member is absolute trash and unable to do literally anything while literal the rest of the party are gods; that one member is just going to get shunted cause rp and battle wise they cant hit the DCs. It makes some sense to balance things out so no one is overpowered or underpowered. Better now then when the levels matter and break the game.

Sorry but that's how it comes off, annoyed that they made a spider climb scroll instead of invisibility and Zen can't really drop Suggestion without risk of the dragon destroying the camp to report back about the silverscales. I get the clergy are supposed to be this badass enemy but for just one outpost it doesn't make sense that they're this well defended after the fact. In other words the water should have been their weakspot before defecting orcs, the cliff should be a vantage point for an Archer/caster(range would be the only real problem not LoS.) In other words how'd they get to this point logically when all of this would have been years in the making? For a bunch of brutal pallies this sounds more like a current day military base on full alert with Air, Ground and Naval forces prepped and ready...

It's not that they're ignoring the point, but that they understand that, save for the most sublime rolling of many dozens of nat 20s and nat 1s(i.e. a snowflakes chance in the heart of the sun) there is no viable chance in anything that they could come to a twinkling of peaceful resolutions and considerations on the horizon, for either Darkus and his cult of dragons, or with the Orun Army of Zealots. Retribution and preemptive strikings are the only plausible response to the enemies facing the unexpectables, and Zenrios belief that a gentle and friendly resolution is even possible in the immediate future is childish to the extremes, and dangerous to conceive.

The argument they made against him, and the right one to make In this circumstance is one from experience. Both in age and in hardship, the party is much more experienced than he is. They've fought and killed a chromatic dragon who refused to see reason, seen the repercussions of failing to act when called to, and nearly died to the Orun Clergy. Just to name a few. Compared to what they've been through, Zen is next to clueless. Their argument is not, and never has been "You're the new guy, therefore your point is wrong". Their argument is much closer to "You have no clue how the wider world works, so trust us in this. We've been here before, and we lived.". Octo even helped out with the planning above-board, because he knew Zen's plan was foolish.
