I’m very enjoy this anime. Big favor on it. I don’t know why some people spoil on this movie. Ocean Waves is to me an under-appreciated film. First off the animation and soundtrack are particularly beautifully done, simple, but it matches the atmosphere and weight of the story - very light. The plot is where this film can be seen as poorly done or strangely memorable, and I am coming down on the latter of the options. I myself have never really been one for coming of age tales, and this movie didn't change that fact, due to it almost being an pseudo coming of age / romance story. Characters don't go through life changing arcs as they mature, nor is there a heavy romantic overtone, or even undertone for that matter in the majority of the movie. Ocean Waves almost creates it's own sort of genre which I will call the "personal story" due to the story feeling mundane, but realistic, as it would be for the viewer's life experiences. So from the point of view that you are witnessing a very realistic depiction of a younger man's life, the story and characters may not be your absolute favourite, but it is immensely satisfying after you watch it. My only gripes being that it wasn't longer and having had more light shined on some of the side characters who were sort of made relevant at the end. Last, thanks chi. I also check the singer Takako MamiyaIt’s, very interesting. I could not find out more about her information. It’s like ghost.

'Ocean Waves', a movie by the much acclaimed studio Ghibli, was a disappointing divergence from their other works. Most likely due to the absence of key staff members such as Hayao Miyazaki, Ocean Waves lacks the heartfelt emotional beats that are so characteristic of other Ghibli works. Visually, the film is stunning; the muted colours, round faces and gentle animation are all nostalgic and make the viewer feel like the movie is a tribute to its own time period. The music, too, is unique and fits the mood perfectly. It's the characters and plot that let Ocean Waves down.

我转述一篇文章：曾经两次围绕动画版《听到涛声》写过文章。这部动画，于93年5月5日傍晚，在日本电视系列频道中播放。仅关东地区就达到了17.4％这样极其少见的高收视率。监督是以《Creamy Mami》著名的望月智充氏，作画监督与人物设计是《魔女宅急便》的近藤胜也。 第一篇评论文刊登在名叫《亚文化群神话解体》的书上。如果说宫崎骏和高田熏的动画追求“吸烟时会打开窗户”这样的“动作的真实感”，那么望月•近藤的动画就是追求少女漫画一样的“关系的真实感”。我要把这一点作为日本动画史上史无前例的东西来赞扬。着眼于漫画，其本身存在着两种系列-- 1.描写普通情况下不可能有的波澜万状体验的“代理体验故事”； 2.作为描写自我和他人的关系的“关系性故事”。 本来漫画也受少女少年小说的传统影响，一开始只有“代理体验故事”。73年以后的少女漫画里，“关系性故事”开始盛行。 但是在动画上，在那之后仍然全是“代理体验故事”。一部分机器人动画虽然受到少女漫画的影响（如《MACROSS》等）。但其中描写到的关系性只有幼儿程度。在经过少女漫画锻炼的女孩子来看，大都是幼稚得可笑的故事。 第二次接触这个作品是在一本叫《世界末的作法》的书上。作者在上面讲了看到我与刚刚完成《侧耳倾听》的宫崎骏氏对谈时，一件让他恼羞成怒的事情。我说了这样的话：一年前同样在GHIBLI工作室制作的《听到涛声》有意思多了，对《侧耳倾听》感动的怕是只有低学年的小学生或是老爷爷老奶奶吧。 宫崎动画中登场的少女总是又坚强又温柔，象母性一样的理想存在（拉娜，娜乌西卡，希塔）。哪儿有这样的家伙？但是在《听到涛声》中，明确地出现了“现实的少女”。对，就是在男孩子的眼光看来，完全不能理解的女孩子的形象。就像武藤里伽子一样。过去，不管是在少年漫画还是在少女漫画里，到处充满着“应该”这种现象。“应该”开朗坚强正直的少年与“应该”清纯正直美丽的少女，“应该”会迎来光辉灿烂的未来，所以“应该”相信未来地去生活。但是在73年以后的少女漫画里“应该”开始消失：我“偏偏就是”既不美丽又不坦诚，而且不聪明的平凡女孩，这样的我也可以吗。“可以的！”少女漫画这样回答。 发展到77年以后，被肯定了的这种“实际情况是”的类型，不再局限于“内向的我”，而是扩展为描写双亲不和、不伦、没有爱的肌肤相亲等“因为复杂的关系而烦恼的我”。少女漫画向着“要传达给读者，在复杂又与期待背道而驰的现实里，为了不让生活消沉堕落而必要的心理准备与基本智慧”进化了，这就是“现实”。这在当时的少女漫画中已是一种普遍现象，但是把这一点融入动画的，至《听到涛声》为止从未有过。
