I have both of these, they are so much fun, especially if you enjoy the whole chop and change aspect. Little note to folks interested in Tri-digger. You can pop off the drills and connect different pieces there for different hand or shoulder looks. Looks especially sharp in my opinion with the claw instead of a hand. Also both heads for tri-digger have visor articulation that reveal further head sculpt detail. Lastly Tri-dasher suffers in stability due to wheels on the bottom of the feet XD I also got mine at Robot Kingdom and think the price point is a little steep but diaclone is kind of quality throughout. I think if these were a two thirds the price it would be more reasonable but still love them either way. The lack of diecast is a thing at this price-point for sure, but I find nearly everything else in the line at this point (at least that I've gotten) is quality. You can try the KOs but the quality gap is sizable on most of them as far as I've seen. Exception is some of the newer MFT stuff, but that's more of an exception than a rule.

It just occurs to me that perhaps these figures might be semi-inspired by the toys that eventually became the Powerdashers. Tri-Dasher = Aragon Tri-Jetter = Cromar Tri-Driller = Zetar Given that the Diaclone line of today is a reboot, it would not surprise me if these are redos of those three into a new form.

I like Diaclone. The amount of small detail in Diaclone is unmatched. There is no diecast but the quality is there. Paint is sparse but really well done where applied. I think the price is mostly justified. I have fun fiddling with them and transforming them back and forth as transformations are simplified but has thoughtful engineering. The more you have, the more you can interchange parts and combine them together.

Nice, but even though I live in Japan, these are overpriced/over-engineered. If they were cheaper/simpler, or if a KO version came out, I might get them. I'm surprised Takara is still making these, to be honest, as the target market is probably very small, IMO, especially due to the price.
