Regarding the truck/trailer configuration: The designer was looking at making it more in line with Diaclone and less in line with Prime because they wanted it clear that they are not in the same universe. The Scramble Link mode, with the arm from the 'trailer' attached to the bed of the 'truck' was supposed to be two independent vehicles operating in tandem to keep the robot fully charged and ready for a quick shift into bot mode rather than the original truck and trailer. The designer said that V-Max was supposed to be "a production unit, with multiple of them making up Diaclone's forces" instead of an individual, self-aware robot. That said, you do you! :D

I feel on some level that the Diaclone reboot would be a really fitting way to "reboot" Transformers designs, returning to the imported Diaclone days of G1.

As someone who owns one of these, that doesn’t excuse the absolutely unnecessarily silly size of the box(es) this thing comes in and the space it takes up in my house. They obviously did this to make the toy seem like it’s bigger than it actually is when on store shelves.

Jesus, this guy is basically a giant lego set. For some reason based on the youtube commercials & stop-motion videos, I was thinking there were supposed to be more transformations/accessories. Another great review. I didn't expect Peaugh to do this one. I've been watching the commercials for these new Diaclone toys on the KZbins. They obviously use the CAD models for the toys and to great effect. All of the models look like the toys and do everything the toys can do. It really points out the bizarre situation with the horrible Netflix shows (I'm assuming Kingdom will be just as terrible as Siege and Earthrise) where they are obviously using the CAD models for the toys, too, yet are unable to have those CAD models do everything the toys can do. Like, I don't know, transform. I can't believe over half the cast of Earthrise never transformed over the six episodes I tortured myself watching.

Thanks for this! As a Transformers fan and collector I was very curious about this, and your video hit the spot. Totally "alternate universe" vibe of where we could have gone had Marvel conjured a more Diaclone-esque story instead of warring sentient robots. As it is, a cool toy and system , but this just isn't my Optimus. The play pattern and aesthetics feels very different and at that price especially I have no need to add it to my collection (especially since I just dropped about $500 on 3P Primes in the last month).

E' colpevole anche del fatto, che possedendo altri Diaclone Reboot, non si è preso la briga di far vedere le interazioni che ci possono essere.
