That's music of high aesthetics. Real pleasure. And great playing, also.

Really amazing! It reminds me very much of Bartók's Mikrokosmos. Bartók's harmonies use much more dissonance though. This is like Bartók but a bit more accessible. There's some really beautiful pieces in here though.

Great music, fully alive! sometimes tender, sometimes soothing, clear like water, playful as small children, loving, full of color, a real ode to piano music. Thank you to Takashi and Kyoko. Thanks also to the publisher and KZbin!!!!
This is one of my favorites. I can listen to this and just get in the flow.

Favourites (rough timings) (this was influenced by the times when I was paying attention): 17:20 20:55 25:30 44:20 46:00 49:35 (quite chickeny) 57:30 The award for best myth about the Pleiades star constellation goes to the Monache people, who tell of six wives who loved onions more than their husbands and now live happily in "sky country". Honourable mention to Thailand: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleiades_in_folklore_and_literature#Asia

A Japanese pianist friend gave this to me on minidisc, which i lost some years ago when the label fell off. So glad to have found it again! Really beautiful and evocative of Japan (or at least it is for me!) Thanks.

amazing. the moment i saw ixis' question, i thought - hey, that looks like paul jenkins. what is ur connection to that artist? i discovered his work in France in th 80's. he is not super famous (i wonder if he's still alive) but has a recognizable style (obviously) :) i'm also a big fan of takashi yoshimatsu. cheers.

Ben Adams: Thank you very much! I love the CD in this posting, having discovered it in a record shop and first asked the shop owner to play it on his hifi system. It took me a few minutes, then I bought it. Another customer wanted to buy it immediately after me. Never knew about a spin off recording.
