I was so shook when the Moroccan/Japanese guy came on because I’m also the same mix, and grew up in the UK too!! It’s such a random combination that I always get excited discovering others like me, and am so interested in how others navigated being from an Arabic or Muslim background + Japanese (both sides of my family were quite ignorant about the other, and I had my Moroccan cousins calling me the “Chinese cousin” 😅). Some challenges I faced when moving to Japan was that I felt my Japanese friends tried to “white-wash” me by calling me their English friend, when I got older and met new people in bars they’d be so brave in asking if Morocco was a dangerous country, or when I told them Morocco was located in North Africa they’d try to “compliment” me by saying that I look European and not African and say stuff like “you’re so pale though!” Like… I know they’ve probably never met a Moroccan person but the ignorance was mind blowing. So then I’d be like “Aw shit, Moroccan woman are so beautiful I hope I look more Moroccan and get darker skin when I grow up

I have had a few moroccan students, neighbours and friends, male and female, arab and amazigh. I think, as a maghrebi being "white" is generally "better" and has advantages (depending where you live ofc). If you look too amazigh for example, people face dicrimination from "whiter" moroccans and other ethnic arabs. I had toy scold students for belittleing berber (amazigh) people, because where we live, they are foreigners themselves and face racism/islamophobia, therefore should know better. Also, as there are many criminal moroccan men in France or Netherlands, etc. in the public eye (in continental Europe at least) (white) people have negative stereotypes towards moroccan (men). I understand that you dont have these stereotyping problems in Japan, so be happy that they "just" see you as their "English (which is not that off tbf) or African friend" - - but your family members being ignorant towards each other is sad because Ive met some of the most sweet moroccan people and I wish many more had this kind positive experience with Moroccans.

Hey Takashii, can you please do a video about the foreigners who have lived in japan for a long time and about the work they do and other things related to getting a job there, please? 🙇🏻🙇🏻 Great video as always! Thanks.

So interesting. I love to see the result of different cultures and genetics coming together. Speaking so many different languages and each so uniquely stunning.

It's great to see the place of my birth diversifying more and more. I hope this will open the minds of the Japanese nationals to the reality of the world we live in. Estamos viviendo al juntos con todos. Nous sommes ensemble avec toute la monde.

No, I would rather the Japanese people be conservative, rather than open their borders and have all their land and culture ruined because of "diversity". I'm not Japanese and yet I know better than to ruin beautiful Japan, and japanese!! Japan must survive!!!!
