Said it before, but i love seeing your whole process, how you build the songs together! I am thankful to you guys taking the time and energy to share your music and passion with us. I think it would be cool if one day you guys would switch "order", we'd follow Meems building an idea of lyrics and song, and then Tefty build around/with it.

Absolutely love this tune and the way it evolves! The beautiful voice of Meems painting on top of the smooth synth is amazing and completes it! Also every time fascinating to watch how the track grows „simply“ by playing a chord or some notes and listen to Teftys explanations. Very inspiring 🙌

Excellently put together track. Despite my initial misgivings of the sound of the Take 5, you have managed to craft a great ambient piece, with the layered vocals from Meems being the icing on the cake. Nice work, both of you. Jury is still out on the synth, in my mind at least (it's not "my" sound), but you've brought out the special sauce in it.
@TeftyMeems3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bottle! Totally understand on it not being your type of synth. It definitely is more of an understated sound. But in that regards it plays really well other sounds in the mix 👍
@BottleMakesMusic3 жыл бұрын
@@TeftyMeems It is definitely an acquired taste and one that (for the moment) does not fit in with the sort of sound and features I am after in a synth, especially at that price point. That being said, it complements the type of minimalist mix you and Meems are going for, and for that I am grateful that you dug into its feature set.

Super! I like that and the mood around... You seem to work easily with ableton and take5. I just receive my Take5 (what a pleasure!!!) and when I've recorded the midi track with it, I can't record the audio track.(it's working with my Osmose without problem...) I"ve Live 12 beta version and I'm using the same configuration I've seen on your screen but it doesn't work... Did you use a plug'in or anything other? Thanks in advance for your answer and many congratulations for your work!

OK... Tefty... How the F... are you getting MIDI over USB to work with Ableton on the T5? I have a P6, and have NEVER been able to get MIDI over USB to work... (and yes, I have the P6 set to send and receive MIDI over USB... and I have USB going directly into my M2 Mac. I've scoured the web, and this issue is very common, and I haven't found a solution yet. Then, I see this video, and you're using the T5 into Ableton as easily as if it were a Roland or something. You're not using a Soundtower Editor, right?
@stevejeffries54038 ай бұрын
I think it has to be said that Sequential have some issues with the Take 5 implementation as far as USB is concerned. My own experience is that the processor blew because I plugged it into an iconnectivity midi interface, which has USB ports. It seems the Take 5 is particularly sensitive to powered hubs (the iconnectivity is a high quality midi interface, not simply a powered USB hub and works fine with all my other synths) which isn’t advertised very well either online or in their manual. This has meant a replacement processor

Hey I was curious how you account for latency with the take 5 in ableton? Whenever I record in there’s a bit of delay so if I’m adding in drums things are a little off the grid. Any tips?

Can you record multiple different midi parts in ableton with only Take5? I understand that only multi-timbral instruments, such as Walforf Blofeld, can do this. Is it right? Thank you
@musicxtn2 жыл бұрын
Most “workstations” allow for that. Ie. Nords, Waldorf like you said. Most Analog synths typically are not Multi Timbral. Andromeda A6 is 16 part multi. DSI Rev 2 is Bi-Timbral.

Great video!!! Musical and writing skills at highest levels. A short critic only: for me there are too much synth lines in same frequency areas. I often think about this following topic: This synth and for example the peak, they dont let you fit them in mix as good as other synths. Overblowing the low mids fast ect. Maybe a tilt or a low shelf at 800hz and then reduce a little bit would help... I think the Prophet REV2 is a monster in this area. Its never fat. Its patches dont sound the best alone. But it always fits. I kinda think this synth is hated for its filter but it shines in areas that you only see in the big picture of a mix. a lot of live bands use it. Its balanced. Very balanced for pads and poly sounds. Even its bass is somehow balanced, because its not too strong and a kick fits with it. Just a brainstorming about synths haha. Ive no gas and i am planning my poly for about 2 years now. I played lots of synths in stores and heard it alot in a band context. I think its gonna be the rev2 for me. Jamming with friends always with the pro 2 paraphonic. Now i want a poly!!!! Keep going on! your creating-process together with the singer is very interesting. Cheers Johnny Raphael
