The level of dust that must accumulate on all of those wonderful collections that must be dealt with. The home is gorgeous!!! I love looking at it but I can not imagine actually living in it! I have some claustrophobic tendencies and all of that would drive me up the wall. But I love, love, love it!!!! I searched with my eyes in her kitchen to see where she had any counter space to actually prepare food and such and I saw none uncovered. I would be too lazy to have to clear a surface each time I needed to use it.

A true lover of the old ways❤ A suggestion for future video- how to care for or clean up a new find. Do you use wax to seal, wash with?, restain if color is off? Gobsmacked! How did someone so young amass these collections?????😮 The wall of rolling pins alone is amazing not to mention coverlets, crocks, etc. My mother would have loved the gathering room. Andrea’s home is full of amazing antiques. I love all her crocks, pantry boxes, spice drawers and other drawers. John and I can never resist a piece with drawers either. She so many amazing pieces with drawers❤️. The porch is wonderful and it too has so many great pieces. Her Antique Shop is awesome. So great to have it on her property. WOW taken back in time. My 95 y/o mom grew up in a 4 generation home, she, her sister, their parents, their grandparents and their great-grandparents. Me and my sister spend every summer when school was off there. I remember many of those things shown in this video like most of the kitchen stuff, especially the little drawers where they stored dried spices. Produce from their garden and orchard was stored on boards in the kitchen and yes, mice lived there too. The toilet was a single outdoor house, painted green with a cut out heart for ventilation. Spending Christmas there was as beautiful as it was brutal. The tree had to get cut in the nearby woods. Decoration was real candles and homemade straw stars or figurines like angels and birds and it still looked beautiful. Everybody did sing Christmas carols in the kitchen which was the only room with a fireplace. That's where the brutal part came in. Every other room was so cold and you tried to hold on as long as you could until you finally had to go outside to the outdoor house. Brutally cold with at least 1 ft of snow, often more. Memories of a time with no TV or phone. Combining savings to buy a radio was a big deal. We still had a good time.

The stories of many lifetimes laid out before us in Andrea's home/property, speak to us of the story of people who lived with few but functional items to make their lives full of shared moments in their living rooms; gathered around the fire for warmth and light, bedrooms; snuggled under quilts sewn with love and scrap materials, bathrooms; of the shared bath (be careful of not throwing the baby out with the bath water, lol) and of course the heart of the home; the kitchen; where meals were prepared, shared and preserved for the love of family & friends. It spoke to us of well-read books, well-worn clothing, wooden spoons and brooms, crock pots filled with healthy ferments, and baskets holding treasures. Of evenings spent on the porch watching beautiful sunsets, of stories shared and plans made for the next day, week, month, and year ahead, of conversations about dreams not yet realized. What a treat for us viewers, I hope that Andrea's family keeps this going for many generations to come. If they, at some point, decide differently, they consider making it a museum of this era for future generations to understand where and how their own ancestors lived, so they can appreciate how they live now.
