I haven't played bridge for over 30 years, and when W showed they had no trumps, it was plain sailing. Why panic?

East was down to just one trump, so it was dangerous to lead a third round of diamonds. East may have been void and trumped the diamond. Just play the king of spades to draw East’s last trump.
