My biggest hope for the system doesn't actually have anything to do with the games. I hope so much that we will get homescreen music, eshop music, settings music, and mii maker music. The fact that switch had none of these felt really sad. music had nothing to with the wii U's sales, and these musical tracks are SO important to the identity of nintendo as whole.

If you were to ask me for a specific date, I'd say June 6th. June just makes sense in general if you think about the length of time between the Switch 1's reveal and launch (which is 5 months) and the time between the reveal and presentation (3 months, which lines up with what we're getting for Switch 2). Plus, early June is the absolute latest the hands-on events for the system end, so we can assume it launches shortly afterwards.

Alright so this may be a stretch but the pokemon company has released the trademarks for their new sets that indicate they’re gonna be focused on pokemon ZA and we typically get these trademarks 6-8 months before the set drops which might mean that ZA will come out during the time frame of June-September which could also mean the switch 2 is coming out around the same time it legends ZA being one of the games on launch

Switch 1 reveal to release was significantly shorter than 6 months. It was actually 4.5 months (19 weeks or 133 days). Announced on Oct. 20th and released on March 3rd. People are making the mistake of counting all of October and March when doing calculations when it was only 14 days in those months combined; Nov., Dec., Jan., Feb., plus 14 days=4.5 months Switch 1 reveal on October 20th>12 weeks later a "presentation" on Jan. 13th>7 weeks later launch day March 3rd. Switch 2 reveal on Jan. 16th>11 weeks later "Direct" on April 2nd>7 weeks after would be May 23rd. I think mid-May at the earliest and mid-June at the latest. Also worth noting, there were loads of hands-on events all Feb. before the Switch 1 release including in San Francisco and London the weekend before the launch. All public hands-events for the Switch 1 happened within a month of its release. Granted Nintendo was in a different situation then and needed to get new hardware out in a hurry because of the failure of the Wii U. But, it seems wild that they would have hands-on events and then not launch the console for more than 2 months.

Yeah, I never thought it would be released March or April, much less revealed anytime sooner than that. Everyone kept saying 2024 and I kept saying 2025-2026. I would predict that its going to be released in July or August. Thats enough of a window for them to launch it, being 5-6 months apart from the reveal and Direct. With the reveal having been January. Just like how it happened with the Switch 1's reveal in October of 2016 and release of March 2017. Thats also a sweet-spot between summer and the upcoming holidays. You would have plenty of people out and about during the summer rushing to the store and you'd have people doing the same during the holidays to buy the console as a Christmas gift.

Considering they have the event dates up till June! I've been saying this for 3-4 years when we started getting any leaks and rumors of the existence of this console, and especially when it was officially acknowledged. That we'd not see the release of this console till November 2025. And given the information we have, that only a year date was given, yes it is releasing in the holiday season like Wii u before it! At best and earliest, August! The switch reveal trailer gave the date of March 2017! The fact we've not received any month date window in this switch 2 trailer reveal means it is more than 6 months away!

At the earliest given the switch 2 experience events run till June, August 15 (the recently leaked Amazon listing date for pokemon legends Z A) would be the earliest they'd release this console! Past events for switch 1 experience in January had a 2 month window into March for it's release! 2 months into June is August. So between August to November 2025 is their likely window!

I think the Switch 2 will be released in the first half of June. Why? Well, the summer months are not the best for the game industry in terms of sales because a lot of people are travelling. Even if it's a hybrid console that one would take on a trip, it's not very common to buy something like that just before or during a trip. I also think the support for Switch 1 from Nintendo won't be as good as you think, I'm pretty sure they'll cut it off after a maximum of 3 games after the release of the successor to encourage people to buy the newer console.

heres an insane copium laced theory: i think we might still be due for an early / mid spring switch 2 release i dare even say the april 2nd direct is going to be a post launch direct because heres the thing, reveal to release is rarely more than a couple months and certanily not a half year and the second they revealed the switch 2 the profit bar is going to take a dive, nobody is going to buy a switch 1 nate the hate (the guy who originally leaked the thursday reveal) also said there would be a full in depth direct in late february and given he hasnt been wrong about a single leak yet im going to trust him late february is when we get the hardware and firmware fully explained as well as some software mid april is the latest the switch can release its also worth noting that the nintendo switch previews were AFTER the release of the console not to mention nintendo are (alledgedly) projecting 20 million unit sales in 2025. theres no way they could do that if it was released halfway through the year. the switch 1 sold 3 million in its first year and it was released very early on in 2017, and has only on few occasions sold more than 20 million in a single year.
