It makes me so happy to see how many people come back to watch this video. I was so depressed in highschool, and still get my bad days/weeks in college, but this video & the words are so powerful. They fill me with nostalgia and kind of bring me to tears. They make me feel like things will and are actually OKAY. That “I’m” okay; Going to be okay.

I'm not clinically depressed, though I have lots of friends that are. It's a little bit insane, knowing that over half of my closest confidants, the people I care most for, have big emotional problems I cannot hope to solve. I do not face the issues that they do - it's almost surreal, their reality, and my best friend, when her medication got switched around and the world turned black, nearly died in an overdose. I cannot imagine loosing her. She told me, when I asked why, that she didn't want to. But it's hard, living, and then it seemed impossible. I don't like to admit it, but I can empathize with her. I am a lot sadder than most people realise. I am a master at pretending I am alright, at acting like criticism of my writing doesn't bother me or the digs my mother forms without thought don't hurt. The criticism is constructive, my mother never thinks it in a harmful way, and so I satisfy myself with the notion that others have it worse and I will be fine. With time, it will all be gone. The only problem is, it's not so easy, is it? The TV series Sherlock refers to 'black moods', and I've found that the phrase fits - or, at the very least, it fits for me. Haven't we all had black moods, days when our seemingly insignificant problems and worries and feelings compound into something great and unyielding? Some depth in which you can almost understand it when people say things like 'I can't do this any more; it's just to hard'? I can, and tonight was one of those increasingly abundant bad nights. I refuse to believe that this is anything less than a universal plight we've all come to face from time to time. Anyways, it's easy to underestimate the simple beauty, the sweeping relief, of somebody telling you in the midst of the darkness that you are okay. That you matter, that you are good at things, that you are worth keeping and other people agree on your worth. It makes the insurmountable less fantastical and more real. I don't expect anybody to read this. Who has the time, who has the motivation, and who really cares about some random girl's comment on a video? I have no clue. But in the odd chance someone does read through it all, thanks for listening. Thanks, dodie, for being someone to lean on, even if just in a three minute long clip. I have no idea where you are or what you are going through, but you made me feel important, reminded me that this too will pass, and you have no idea how much others need that. You should feel proud. On your darkest days, know that somebody else out there cares about you and thinks you deserve the world.

Dodie, you probably won't see this, but I'm someone who is pretty much always in denial about things happening to me and so mostly I ignore these things but sometimes when a bunch of things pile up they all hit me at the last moment when I don't have time to sort stuff out and I end up having panic attacks. I was having such a crisis right now, I have two exams tomorrow which I don't feel prepared for at all and I was going through some nobody likes me at this new school where I have to spend two whole years shit and I've been feeling lonely the whole day and I just really needed a hug from someone and luckily I came to the right place because you just made me calm the hell down and breathe and now I really think I'm okay and I know that I've got this so thank you, thank you so much. Not just for this, but for everything. Watching your videos just make me so so happy and you'll probably never know how much I love you but here this was worth a shot.
@jessicad59356 жыл бұрын
+HorribleDeplorableHarry fuck this comment and fuck off, okay? you never know what someone else is going through and even though it might not be a challenge for you, it might be the worst struggle for them. if you can't relate, good for you and I'm happy for you but that doesn't give you the right to minimize someone else's pain. Sometimes, there will be those who play the victim card to get what they want, but you can't tell that from one comment on a youtube video. Maybe she did really need this, and maybe dodie did help her. It's not our place to judge. We pride ourselves on being a supportive and kind audience so if you can't be that, kindly take your comments somewhere else.

I just wanted to say; 1. I love you 2. everything you said between 0:55 - 1:13 I cried the entire time. Not just because of the meaning and impact of what you said but exactly how you said it. If someone were to film a video and state normally to their wide rage of viewers, "You are beautiful..." I would have not felt the same and definitely wouldn't have cried. But, because this is an ASMR video, the fact that you were whispering changed everything. It made everything extremely personally and incredibly more meaningful. So i just wanted to say thank you and that you saying that, while i know it wasn't really for me or any one in particular, completely made my day. And made me cry, in a happy way, because I live around and unfortunately surround myself with people that don't find it very important to say that to someone that they care about. I love you

I always find these videos relaxing because Dodie's voice has just equated to familiarity and happiness in my brain. These are the only ASMRs I like because Dodie means so much to me and just the sound of her voice makes me so happy :')

Thank you Dodie, I really needed that, my parents just got divorced and depression hit in and this being my first year in high school really doesn't help, thank you
@emmaroombaasmr80368 жыл бұрын
+Bella Gomes I'm really sorry!! Depression sucks. Remember to take care of yourself. Take school on step at a time, and take little breaks for relaxation every day. Take a walk. Play in the rain. Take a warm bath. Watch more ASMR if you like it. Also remember to talk to people you're close to and get your feelings out. I hope situations get better for you

I just want to say that yesterday I was having really bad anxiety and was feeling really down and depressed, leading to me thinking about ending my own life. Watching this calmed me down and made me think rationally and calmly. So thank you Dodie for making this and for pretty much saving my life. I love you :)
