Darn it! I have seen such a bedroom before! A great grandfather of mine, he was born in 1898, his bedroom looked almost exactly like this! Since he must have been in his late 20ies during the time of Art Déco, it also fits the time period, it is very likely he bought the furniture back then. Great video!

Art deco is a broad range. You are thinking of art deco as in New York art deco such as the chrysler building.

I saw a few pieces in there, but he did say more the 30’s, and the Art Deco is in the back room where he’s still putting together. Maybe you’re thinking more on the lines of Paris Art Deco? It really is beautiful, but broad spanning definition.

I thinks his home is 1930-ish in the sense that less affluent families could not afford to throw out all the earlier stuff.... So it makes sense that a mix from earlier years would co-exist. Wealthy families on the continent and in New York would have much larger homes and could commission original high style art deco furniture and decor in ebony, ivory, parchment, btonze, and shagreen, etc.

Even in the 30's during the Art Deco period, most households wouldn't be full-blown Art Deco in style, unless it was a newly designed one. It wouldn't make sence for people to just throw out all the furniture when a new style emerged, so there's bits and pieces of turn of the century stuff in there as well. I think this house is more loyal to the actual look of the time than to the style in itself
