This is amazing. Honiara is way safer than our capital city of Port Moresby by proof that a young expatriate family like yous taking a bus and going around freely with no one intimidating you.

Why i don't like moving around is because of intimidation it provoke me badly, the world is a free land for everyone, but when the government brought this useless constitution everything become some else

I was there in 1991 from your walk through town I see that the city has changed so much. The main street through Honiara was not divided and there was no underground road crossing.

I worked at Honiara Hotel in 2008. I walked through that sidewalks as well during weekends going to Mendana Hotel where my sister works upto now. Seeing these sights somehow put a smile on my face. I understand that they have a shopping mall now and that's great.

Nice to see Honiara. Thank you for the video. There's still attitude problem regarding littering, and the underpass to the Central Market clearly shows the proof. It's wonderful to see Corban enjoyed the walk-about.

I so enjoy your videos with the kids they are so interesting and the kids are beautiful and interactive with your community. They are sure growing up and I am so blessed by your family serving the Lord. The smiles on your faces are always a blessing and encouragement to me. I pray God continues to bless your ministry, keep you all healthy and safe and that many villagers be won to Christ. Your family is a true witness and example for the Lord. Your lives reflect the Lord with your love and compassion for others. God bless you as you humbly serve him. Praying for health issues. God will see you through. He guards you and protects you with the right hand of his righteousness. God bless you, Dawn Smith

Life worth living is exactly what you both teaching and showing your two children when, instead of going to town in your air-conditioned car, you choose to commute by public bus, instead of high security-fenced accommodation, you choose a typical property that's neighborly friendly. You let your kids to play in that rough backyard just like any other kids in the solomons do. By the way you talk I guess you are from the states and strolling that day to as far as the ports area where WWII coast watchers memorial monument is erected is a fitting one. A tribute to both local coastwatchers and your fellow country service men who laid down their lives for the better and free world today. Am sure you have ventured out from honiara while you were in the solomons to see and experience other interesting things.

Lived in Honiara in the 70s. No paved roads, no buses. Commerce occurred in an funky old chinatown. Yes, for me, those were the best of times. But I acknowledge that Solomon Islanders are entitled to create their own form of “development”.
