I truly think this young lady is an immense credit to her generation. Naive no, she is empathic and an artist. She bears a lot of soul in her music. Not everybody can hear it but others and myself can. Everybody reacts to things differently. For me, she speaks very deeply to my soul. Can't expect her to be everyone's favorite cup of tea but alas, she is truly one of my favorite artists during my 54 years on this planet along with David Bowie, Beatles, Nektar, Stones, Yes, Stp, Vivaldi, Camile St. Sans, Mendolson, Bob Marley just to mention a few... Long may you run Miss Linsey Sterling. This geezer thinks loads of you!!! :-)

It makes so much sense how this piece of song is an expression of what she is trying to say for someone who couldn't voice out. It means a lot. I could feel the emotions pouring out of this piece. And the story she shared is really heartbreaking. There are more than just one who suffer such things.

Holy crap, this performance was absolutely sick!! Jesus christ it made me shed a tear. If only people knew how unique this performance is and how impossible it is to do this with a violin... wow Lindsey, you just completely blew me away, my mind is just completely blank; not only does Stev-o and Pete dance in the background, but you dance with them! My god, this is just out of this world, seriously

It's eerie how that "personal intro" reminds me of the previous AtomFactory/Troy Carter star, who still speaks a lot on the same subject. Kinds of makes me wonder if they asked Lindsey to fill that void after they got rid of their biggest client.

"So when I’m writing, when I’m in “writing mode,” I really seek a lot of inspiration from emotions. Especially because I’m a violinist and I can’t always say what I want to say through lyrics. So I really dig deep and I just… I try to express through every single chord a lot of emotion. And one of the songs that I was just very inspired to write because of a certain situation was “Take Flight.” This song really means a lot to me because I found out a couple months ago that one of my fans, a young boy in elementary school, was being bullied in school. And it got so bad that it got to the point where he actually tried to commit suicide. When I heard about this I did my best to reach out to the family and do what I could for them and their son. It just broke my heart, though, to think about this young, little boy who was just in the beginning of elementary school and that he felt so hopeless at such a young age that he would think the only way out was to take his life. I think there are always times when we find ourselves feeling suffocated by the situations around us. And we’ve all had experiences-I know I’ve had times when I just can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and I wonder “is there any end to this situation?” But “Take Flight,” I wrote about the times when I learned how to reach out of my situation. I learned in certain times how to reach out and find hope even though you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. And there are always people around us, people who love us, and even though we may feel all alone, there are people that are trying to help us. And whether it be actual people around us such as family or friends, or turning to God, there is always someone to listen, and to lift us. I have found myself sometimes pulling against those things, but “Take Flight” is about turning to them and about learning to trust the people-and in my case, many times, learning to trust God. So that’s what this is about."

InfiniteRupees I thank you very much for taking the time and giving me attention devoted to rewrite in English what Lindsey says before playing Take Flight. I invite you, if you want, go to my youtube channel to see some of my videos on Lindesy. She is for me a source of inspiration for the creation of videos and, despite his age, is a wise young woman. Still many thanks for your infinite kindness. - Have a really nice day -

people are talking that she isnt playing this live actually, well of course she is, sometimes, you can hear some little mistakes, thats the proof that she is playing it all live. And those little mistakes arent powerful enaugh to ruin the show, even the biggest mistake cant ruin it

Just A Channel Sometimes, the greatest "mistake" can be an actual great thing! Have you seen a video where Lindsey dropped her bow towards the end of Shadows? (It only has a few thousand views) But the recovery was amazing!!! It was quick! Drop. Oops! One Sec. Then starts resuming like nothing happened!

+Just A Channel Oddly enough, I get a burst of excitement when I hear her mistakes. Could be that I know she is playing live and also it could be that it makes her feel real. Nobody is perfect and the talent she has is just mind-blowing.

Anyone who plays violin knows this is live. You can immediately hear her vibrato to match her hands, which she does widely and beautifully.

If one doesn't listen to this carefully, it is really hard to tell whether Lindsey is playing live now, especially when you compare this to some earlier performances. She has improved so much that these mistakes are barely audible!

No offense, you speak with far more pure piercing clarity, speaking with the violin then u with your voice. You speak to the soul with musical words the mind can't understand

A very sweet, but naive sentiment in her intro. So very sad about the young boy. However sometimes there *isn't* anyone who cares, or who is reaching out; there's nobody left *to* reach out. Some people are just crazy and are doing the world a favor when they off themselves. A child is too young to decide, but sometimes people just decide they've lived enough. And/or that the life they see ahead of them, inevitable, is one they're not willing to live. Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel really is an oncoming train...

Very insightful comment, but unfortunately we don't know the full story of the boy and his situation. Therefore you can't discount Lindsey's efforts of reaching out to him -and that there is no one or nothing left. I could tell she couldn't articulate her thoughts well without getting emotional before her performance. I see where you are coming from that there are those that don't have anything or anyone because of life situations or they have a mental illness who desire an escape route from living. Those people are important and should be represented and heard. I get that. However there a greater forces at work who fight against that - family, friends, caseworkers, neighbors, church leaders, random strangers, the list goes on and on. They may not understand what goes on with the victim and why he or she wants to die, but they sure as the sun know about life. So they desperately want to preserve it. Like a flame on a candle, they want to keep it burning. Because they see its worth, and its worth preserving. You say the "light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train". I say its the lit vigil of those that care about the person -reaching out to them. Some known, others unknown. Pardon me. This rant is not to discredit your statement or feelings, but mostly an outpouring of how I feel about the suicide and the people that it effects.
@Hiraghm
@Hiraghm 10 жыл бұрын
Divine Pearl I'm not discounting her efforts. "Those people are important and should be represented and heard. I get that." No. I don't say those people are important, and I don't say they should be represented and heard. I'll concede that suicide is harder on the people left behind. I'm not offended by your rant, nor do I feel discredited. Some people see the glass as half empty. Some people see the glass as half full. Some people see what's in the glass, and they don't want it. People who talk about suicide want attention. There's nothing shameful in this, even though it feels shameful. It's no more shameful than a drowning man shouting, "Somebody save me! I want to live!" He wants attention, too. But, when the person keeps talking about suicide, and nobody helps him/her fix the underlying need, eventually s/he's no longer taken seriously. The problem isn't solved, they're just more isolated than ever, and now ashamed of their cries for help. People who try suicide have given up hope that there's anyone left who will hear their cries. And sometimes there isn't. It's at those times some of them choose to try to save themselves, and others just let the waters of their despair rise above their heads.
