It wouldn't have stopped the elevator horn breaking but that plane would have been a hell of a lot easier to fly with roll and pitch gyros. Most ordinary flyers think gyros are "cheating" - then they go to model airshows and marvel at show pilots - who use gyros! Gyros don't fly the plane for you but they certainly smooth things out. Interesting video. Hope you rebuild.

Thanks for the comment. I think I will give this idea some thought. Any recomended brand? The rebild is almost done 🙂 B

How on earth did I fly for the past 48 years without a gyro?

All sorts of things looked wrong with that flight. C of G, control surfaces sticking, underpowered? I guess it was a maiden? I’d have landed that thing no sooner than it took off, I have a feeling if we could of seen you on the sticks you were fighting it the moment you opened the throttle.

Thanks for the comment Dean, it’s very encouraging. Once I managed to take off and land without ruining anything. Please take a look: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKiaqKilpJeBqNEsi=neGcS1INzUhWWpgw B.

That horn broke in the crash. You were too slow and stalled.

Funny story, friend pulled and old plane. His control horns and servo arm were breaking! Brittle as hell!

This one was built in 2015, but it has had a few "heavy" landings before :-)

@@birgiredwald Lol! I looked at a picture of me in front of a quarter scale gasser 35 years ago. I was much skinner then. At 63 things slow down.
