Good lord! somehow I missed the Voice season when she was on. I understand she writes her stuff - who can carry a song so effectively with just piano and voice these days? one does not miss all the digital supplements they add to recordings these days. WOW - its not just her voice (fine one, mind you, but there are many such fine voices), its the delivery! THAT makes this singer/song write extremely special. GO!!!!! No wonder Prince wanted to work with her.

Well she was going to be on the This Is It tour but it certainly wasn't based on her she was one of 5 back-up singers. She's a wonderful and talented musician. Michael hand-picked her,like he does everyone on his tours. Judith wrote a beautiful song tribute to Michael and his fanbase supports her. I get where you are coming from but also understanding how private Prince is/was. I imagine that he wanted to be by himself and so he was by himself --- just left alone. So many people who knew Prince well said that he spent the majority of his life alone, as a preference. I, too, do not understand why everyone (in the Prince camp) was okay with leaving him alone, given his hospital visit(s). It is baffling. I get what you are saying about being a friend...but if your friend is not having any of that...there really is not anything one can do against their wishes. This man was very powerful and controlled EVERYTHING in his world...in a world that he created for himself. From what I understand, it is law that someone who is hospitalized for OD must be evaluated and there are additional protocols that Prince wiggled out of due to his celebrity status. So, if Prince can get out of that scenario without consequence, why would his friends or camp be in a position to place any demands about what needs to happen next? Think about it...he resumes the normal routine...takes a bike ride into town, has a PP After Dark Party since he did NOT do an After Party in Atlanta (after the concert), he goes to the Dakota Club to see his friend play there, he goes to Electric Fetus for Record Store Day. I am not sure that Prince let anyone know how bad he was feeling. He just kept going. There seemed to have been a boundary that people knew not to cross with him. It is my prayer that in hindsight...everyone who had direct contact with Prince have replayed the entire time through their head...what they would have done different, how they could have prevented it from happening...maybe. All I know is that my heart is still broken and none of this stuff makes any sense. I am grateful for the music. Prince left everything that he had on the stage, in every song, every concert, every picture, every dance move was done for his family (US)... everything was always done in excellence. I do not wish any ill will toward Judith Hill. She is an incredible talent that has been connected to two epic performers of a lifetime. There is a purpose in those experiences that I hope she is able to discover. Perhaps, she will be able to help an up-and-comer to realize their potential, open some doors for them. Hopefully, she will realize what he constantly told the world and demonstrated continuously...Each of us have what we need. Is it within each of us. We can no longer allow others to define our image or who we are...it is each of us that must do that for ourselves. That is what Prince did for her. Prayerfully, she will pay it forward, too.
