Exactly what a lot of us needed to get the Melody so we can then get a feel for the chords and chord voicing. Thank you

Just trying to help. The on screen tab is incorrect. Just one note, but it's a melody in a well known song. Bar six is played correctly with D as the final note (as demonstrated), but the on screen tab shows it as D flat.

Since most guitarplayers are terrible readers you can make a fortune by teaching like this. Audio and TABS!!! On the whole internet one cannot find a book with jazzstandards in TAB format. Im lucky that I van read music but many of my student only learned to play with tabs. Not with me offcourse.

Great Video!!! What scale would you use for this standard?
@jazzstandardsforguitar7983 жыл бұрын
Use C Major for the A section except for the D7b5 chord, where you could use D Lydian Domiant. For the B Section most would be F Major scale but then go back to what you were doing in the A Section once the D7b5 chord comes back.

Great song !! Thanks...Got to learn how to play it. 'Take the A Train' , Duke Ellington, was an opening number on a Saturday night Armed Forces Radio Show that I listened to on Yokota AFB, Japan, 1954-57. I subscribed & will follow FretDojo.com.
