14:34: "The opportunity is there at every moment to travel on the impersonal path, and eventually our life becomes a constant experiment and we are then a constant recipient of the outcome of the experiments we are conducting. That's the life in wisdom. That's the description.It's not about waiting forever for this big enlightenment, that's a misconception. That is something in the future. That's business as usual: putting your happiness hostage, of time. You have to take your spiritual journey in your own hands, which is right here, right now, and it's always right here right now at every moment, you see? And it's open. Enlightenment is completely open. The door is never closed. The store is open 24/7."

don't allow your happiness to be held hostage by time... what a beautiful way to put it. That's exactly how it feels whenever an expectation about a potential future, or a memory of an interpreted past takes on the focus of our attention. When we live under the belief that we exist as separate entities in time and space, with a past infinitely behind us, and a future infinitely ahead of us, we have already severed the connection to just being here, in this moment, as the presence of awareness. It is always right here, right now, simply waiting to be recognized by itself

This seems to be emerging naturally..as a way to observe and see the messages and opportunities everywhere feelingblessed .. everyting that really disturbs drops away as we accept how things are, and observe what that is, and see in that reflection, more clearly what we are, and what we are not. Thankyou.. helps explain emergence of realisation, as opposed to waiting for the "shift" event..

Thank you Francis ji. Brilliantly pointed out that there is no evidence for the sense of limitation ...it's only because of identification. Again you ask does it work for us for our happiness? A brilliant question ...the sense of limitation can only trigger dukha in us...So this belief of limitation has not only no evidence nor does it allow us to be happy!...then you point out question the belief instead of perpetuating it...what if the consciousness I am is not limited...brilliant

(3) Jesus said: If those who lead you say to you: See, the kingdom is in heaven, then the birds of the heaven will go before you; if they say to you: It is in the sea, then the fish will go before you. But the kingdom is within you, and it is outside of you. When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will know that you are the sons of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you are in poverty, and you are poverty. *Gospel of Thomas*

I don't think the question was addressed. The original question was how to stop identifying with one's person, i.e., how to identify with consciousness instead. However, the clarification was more related to personal consciousness vs unlimited consciousness.

How do you live it when you are surrounded by family members who are very often agressive towards you in the way they talk to you ,silence ?
@brettneuberger64663 жыл бұрын
A Course in Miracles suggests you’re in the ideal situation to not just live it, but to awaken fully to your self. It says the only way to fully understand the self is through another; which makes perfect sense. If we want to see ourselves as universal but can’t recognize the same in others, we clearly don’t understand the meaning of universal. Therefore, when surrounded by negative, difficult, and judgmental people, if we do our very best to recognize who they are beyond their ego, ie., the same as us, we’ll greatly accelerate our own awakening. Easier said than done for sure! The more familiar I become with the teachings in that course, the more I understand Francis’ direction. They point to and teach the exact same ‘thing,’ only their metaphors and language are very different. Hopefully things are going well for you.

A golden question. And a brilliant answer. But I am afraid the advice is not applicable by a persona.
@DietrichLasa7 жыл бұрын
Anka: Francis said 'travel the impersonal path.' Obviously, the persona can't travel an impersonal path. I agree that the advice to change thinking etc can be misleading.The change he is referring to is in realising that thinking and any other phenomena are not perceived by a believed-in, separate entity. Therefore, in his 'experiment' thoughts are not constantly implying a thinker... and that could be said to be a 'change' of thinking. Paul Hedderman uses the verb 'entertain' instead of 'to experiment'. He suggests to 'entertain' the fact that 'what's looking is what we are looking for' (St Francis of Assisi).
@anka.zarnecka48037 жыл бұрын
Yes, thank you for your comment. I understand the experiment Francis proposes. How I see this - it can be apply TO a persona (and to thinking, feeling, perceiving) but it cannot be apply BY a persona itself. Fron my perspective - this is like a medicine that you are not able to apply until you are recovered.
