Waiting for mine to arrive this week.... I read quite a bit before ordering. Only negatives I heard about Takeda were heat soak (mainly just at idle) & I read one fella mention heat wrap. So I ordered a $40 roll of top grade heat wrap (inch and a half wide by 10 feet) that I plan to METICULOUSLY wrap the entire intake with. I have to imagine that will make quite a difference. I'm guessing the metal intake tube is what is heating up quickly in the engine bay, and causing pretty cool air to heat up quickly before it hits the engine, is my hypothesis and preventing the intake tube from heating up should make a huge difference I think. I've spent over 20 grand on parts/body shop repairs/mods etc for my 09 V6 Accord... its my love. So I don't do something unless I'm pretty confident it will be good for the car.

@jacobhendry I chose SRI over CAI for a few reasons. First, I didn't want to have to pull the bumper off to check/clean the filter. Next, I didn't want to worry about hydro-locking my engine by driving thru puddles. Some guys have noticed worse low end with both CAI and SRI, especially those with I-4. I'm not sure if the SRI will improve the power/fuel economy issues you've seen.

hey austin just an inquiry i own a 2011 honda accord 2.5 v6 sedan is the takeda sri bolt on for my engine too cause i noticed on your video that the engine seems to look a little different but same 3.5 v6

I'm not positive, but I think you have to take off the front bumper to install the CAI. Check out the aFe Power website for install instructions.

I have a 6 speed manual transmission. If you have an automatic, it might look slightly different. But it'll install the same way.
