regarding the china car scams: as you have cited videos of people throwing themselves at cars for money. This is telling me that govt/court system is fair, perhaps at the mercy of a justice if it is able to prove liability; whereas rather the Japanese legal system is more unfair and leans toward the arbitrary. Then you make assumption that Japanese people are concerned about you and society as a general reasoning to not hurt someone. Growing up my family would be embarrassed if I made headline news or disgraced the family by doing any unethical/illegal things. My chinese dad was SUPER strict. So please don't generalize anyone. Actually, it is more true of a generation about Japanese people (because they are collective, and don't want to stick out). I know many chinese people with high honor and extreme work ethic.

First of all, thank you for watching our podcast and making such a heartfelt and genuine comment. You are completely right. We did seem to generalize, and it seemed that we were making assumptions about all Chinese people, but we were only speaking of those that were acting unethically. The drivers in the video were Chinese, and we felt for them. Also, the officer was Chinese and he was protecting those who would be harmed by these horrible acts. Just because we say Chinese, it doesn’t mean that we are talking about all Chinese. We also referenced basketball players and how they flop, but obviously we weren’t taking about all basketball players. We will work harder to make sure that our comments are clear. Thank you!!!

Can you address my first query regarding the justice system? if its too hairy--I will understand as well. Just curious. TYIA (Im living in America, so no offense)

Its not too hairy! The Japanese system is not fair AT ALL! The police can hold innocent people for a long time period of time and torture them into a fake confession. I would never want to have any reaction with the police here.
