After you lost that big one due to the clip that bent, I hope you put a stronger one on the second time. I quit using light tackle in places where I might get lucky and hook a big one. Too many times the big one got away because I didn’t prepare for it.

Ok, good fish, o e of two things happened. You didn't close the clip or which happens with that style clip and using a bucktail the fishes mouth opened the clip as he bit down. That clip is famous for doing that.

Whenever we purchase terminal tackle, its hard to know if we are getting a ROSCOE or other quality USA hardware. There are poor quality imports that mimic the good stuff. Many of these clips are repackaged by USA importers. Look how easily you were able to bend that clip back and forth. That's not a ROSCOE clip.

I hit 3 spots when im near cape may. 1) sunset beach from the jetties near the cement ship up to the ferry dock rocks. 2) Towsend Inlet (north of Avalon) at slack tides. 3) the bridge out of Stone Harbor for night fishing. Good Luck. About the inlet, usually in October around the full moon, mullet come up in the bay and strippers and big weakfish (10+ lbs) follow them in.

hey man these waders are Patagonia Rio Azul Waders, I got them in the spring and they really worked well till about this summer when they started leaking by the seams and I had to marine goop the seams to keep them dry. There definitely not scratch resistant but don't get me wrong I put these waders through hell and back so if they stay in one piece their doing good haha.
