Thanks for the great videos - just found them. If you look at the building to the west on takeoff at the 4:24 mark, you'll see Jeppesen, where they publish your charts, fms data, and develop some really great software! I learned to fly at KAPA back in 1997.

Great video. Impressed by the climb rate out of Denver on a hot day....
@gregmink10 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave, Yes, it climbs well.....especially when it is cold out. But for a hot day in Denver, it did really well. I had full fuel and 4 adults on board with lots of luggage.

How did you arrive at the decision to purchase a Premier vs other VLJ's? Enjoy your videos, particularly the ones featuring airports around CO, did quite a bit of instrument training and mountain flying orientation out of Jeff Co. and spend quite a bit of time snowboarding out there every winter.
@gregmink9 жыл бұрын
Speed, size and efficiency all factored in to making the choice. As well as price.

Premier 1 Driver It's a beautiful airplane! And after I posted the question, I looked at the numbers and impressive vs other single pilot capable light jets. What was your first aircraft purchase? Enjoy and safe flying!
@gregmink9 жыл бұрын
Sam Taylor My first aircraft was a Cessna 172. I flew F-16's in the military...back in the day. My previous aircraft was a MU-2 which I loved.
@samtaylor31159 жыл бұрын
Premier 1 Driver Very cool. I started out my flight training at Commair Aviation Academy's partnership program with Jacksonville University, however decided to go another direction in college, not that I didn't love flying, just decided the airline industry wasn't for me. I've been looking to purchase, and get back into aviation, recently had the opportunity to do some mountain flying up in BC out of Squamish in a 172. However I suffer from every pilot's dilemma, the dreaded mission profile! I did pretty much all my flight training in 172's, so would be comfortable flying/owning one, however, I can't really fit my wife and two snowboards plus bags in a 172, so I'll have to go another direction! Also love the MU 2, would love to step up into that aircraft some day!

Why do you sometime keep the brake on and fire up the engines before releasing the brake and taking off, and other times you don't stop at all and just go full power?
@gregmink7 жыл бұрын
Rolling takeoff versus full stop takeoff. Lots of factors come into play, but primarily runway length. On long runways I tend to do a rolling takeoff as there is plenty of margin for error. On shorter runways, I do the hold the brakes, check the engines and then release.

Thank you so much for these videos, rite down my alley, Question,, When I was in the Navy back in the 70's I was flying back to my ship on an Eastern jet and was reading a interesting pamphlet and I thought it said the higher an aircraft flies the shorter the distance between point a to b. Is that true? Again thank's for your vid's. John
@gregmink8 жыл бұрын
+john king I don't know if that is true, but if you take a string between two points on a globe, you'll find the string the longest if you go a straight line between the two points. The string will be shorter if you follow the curve of the globe.
@MrDrewbug18 жыл бұрын
That what I kind of figured. Again thank you for your videos, you are a very intelligent pilot it's interesting on all the things required to fly a jet. Catch you later, be safe.

1:31 taxi...so not used to taxing hands off...in all the Cessna airplanes I have flown always been taught to hold back pressure and controls into the wind....on a bigger aircraft is this not necessary? Cool view!
@gregmink9 жыл бұрын
+Paul Rude I would do it if the wind was really howling, but in normal or light winds the plane really doesn't get pushed around much.
@chrisgrab714810 жыл бұрын
Nice video! Can you compare Premiere1 vs Citation M2?
@gregmink10 жыл бұрын
Well, I'd say the Premier is larger and faster than a M2. The M2 has the new Garmin avionics which are nice. The range of the two aircraft is probably comparable. I think the Premier might be a better comparison to the CJ2. The Honda Jet or Phenom 100 might be a more apples to apples comparison to an M2.

Excellent video! I live just a few miles west of Centennial Airport. It looks like you had a really smooth departure, with no turbulence. What does EEONS stand for?
@gregmink10 жыл бұрын
Thank you. EEONS is a point on the EEONS 4 departure that I was given. You can see it here-155.178.201.160/d-tpp/1412/05715EEONS.PDF . Many of the airports use a SID (standard instrument departure) for all IFR traffic departing their facility. It is basically a highway in the sky that you follow.

signature1990 Its not bad. Plenty of headroom and you don't want to be too far away from the rudder pedals because you need to get full deflection on those. The back is great which is where the person who paid for the plane usually sits! Although not in my plane.
