Howdy howdy Ern! I'm a manager of Flight Dispatch at another major part 121 carrier. My special project is to process and pre-plan Airbus aircraft deliveries. We take them from Mobile, AL, Toulouse, France, and Hamburg, Germany. The internationals can make for a good challenge, especially when crossing the Atlantic in the winter. I recently went and picked up a new jet from Mobile, and my experience was almost identical to yours. Only difference is we install seats at our induction hangar and it was just me, the chiefs, and quality control mechanic. Pretty cool to see this process from the Boeing side of the fence! Thank you for the content and all you do for the aviation community!

That was a great introductory and detailed moments at Boeing airfield in Seattle for the deliveries of both B737 Max aircrafts. You have a great personality and the interior of that B737Max you showed look clean and brand new. I hope you have a great week and I hope you have a safe flight tomorrow afternoon flying this brand new Max aircraft from Phoenix to Texas. The Mount Rainier view was excellent.

I remember the new airplane smell when we took delivery of all those 737-300 at CO back in the day. carpet fibers, new rubber galley floors, adhesive and sealant smells, no wear on anything, virgin leather - it was nice. no box lunch or gifts though. They still had eyebrow windows to stuff magazines into :) Oh, and no little "X's" on the blank panels. We all know what was under those. Today you might get a surprise though. Ironically, I was also at the storage facility when we parked the airplane for the last time and grabbed some souvenirs like the first aid kits. The airplane may well be the aluminum can I'm sipping from right now.

I love Seattle; I love Boeing Field with all those new liveried aircraft sitting there waiting to fly (some of them being exotic airlines from faraway places I will never visit). I also loved this video of the delivery flight (always wondered how new aircraft were brought into a fleet) and I can't wait to see your video of you flying the first commercial flight on this new Max. So awesome!!! What an amazing one of a kind experience. I once had a pretty cool new plane experience commuting home after a trip on frontier. First plane had an issue so they brought in another plane for us that was brand new and had never seen revenue service. I had been chatting with the crew in the gate area and they let me come down with them before boarding which made me the first non-frontier passenger on the plane. Smelled brand new!!! Super neat experience.

Well done.. i too was able to run locomotives that were brand new or totally rebuilt on their madien voyages. Its a thrill because the cabs are brand new and everything works ! Hope you are able to fly new plane off the assembly line..

I’ve never been involved in the sign off and delivery flight of a jet, but I was a witness to the sign off, handoff, and delivery of a couple of 500 million dollar satellites back in the early 2000s. Thankfully I wasn’t the one signing the three five inch thick, three binders in a procedure that made a house closing look simple and quick. But everyone involved was extremely happy that the years long ordeal was over and the birds were flying and operating. I imagine delivery of a multimillion dollar airplane is similar.

It is really neat to pick up a new plane from the manufacturer - one of the things I was surprised to do was that we had to do weight and balance the private pilot way ( weight x arm = moment ) and compute a % CG MAC - instead of doing weight and balance the way you'd do it on a normal line flight - because the airplane hadn't been inducted into the airline weight and balance program - so for every one of the 19 people we carried (on a 70-seat regional jet) - we had to do a weight x arm for each person based on which row they were sitting - and we had water ballast and an arm for that water ballast because we had no galley carts - we could only take 19 passengers because that is the max number of passengers we can take with no flight attendants on board - even for a part 91 delivery flight - we also had a set of gear pins in the plastic wrapper to give to the mechanics at the end of the delivery flight - the manufacturer takes their gear pins (giving us the new gear pins) when we taxied off the gate for takeoff. but yeah the catering is always top-notch because it's included in the purchase price of the airplane that plus a full tank of fuel.

Pleased to make your acquaintance! I work in aircraft maintenance for Southwest at the hangar at Love Field. Been with the company for 12 years (worked for Delta for 15 years prior). Although my channel is not related to the job, the majority of the skills and construction methods I've used in the boat build featured on my channel were acquired though my 30 years in aircraft maintenance. A lot of the same principles apply. On the maintenance side of things, we get to open them up and do whatever repairs are needed after they've been flying for a few years. It's a side of the business that people rarely get to see. Good video, hope to ride jumpseat with you before I retire!

I go past BFI a lot when I’m heading to UW Medical Center for appointments at the heart center. Also that journal and pen is nice, my sister in law is HR for Boeing so she gets Boeing swag. Since I’m a avgeek and Boeing fan she always gives me all sorts of Boeing stuff. She just gave me a really nice Hydroflask with Boeing branded on it.

We live down in the Portland area so we have visited Seattle many times. Have taken the Boeing factory tour in Everett, Washington which was awesome. Have also visited The Museum of Flight at Boeing Field so many times I have lost count.

I went to the Boeing Museum of Flight In June. Great experience. For lunch, we sat on the patio and watched the beautiful Boeing planes take off and land. I saw a brand new 777 with the Boeing livery on the side take off. Pulled out Flightrader24 and watched the flight. They did a couple of loops over the ocean and came back in. I had a touch of envy wanting to be on that cool airplane. I met a bunch of Boeing employees at the Museum and on my vacation in Seattle. They are proud of the planes they produce. Your flight looked like a fun time and a good experience. You are a great ambassador for Southwest. Maybe in retirement, Boeing will hire you as an Ambassador.
