Taking a Bird on a Winter Walk | Pigeons & Doves

In this video we invite you to join us on a winter walk. I’ll also be showing you how Tallulah rides in my scarf in such a way that she stays safe and warm. Though I must say that not all birds will want to do this, and you should wait to try until you have a strong trusting relationship established.
Tallulah and I go on regular walks to get fresh air, unfiltered sunlight, exercise and enrichment. While Tallulah can’t enjoy as many of the benefits in winter compared to in the summer, to us the value of the enrichment and fresh air keep us going out, sun or snow.

haha i love how she is sooo intersted but still firmly nestled in the scarf to avoid the cold 😀 Could you give us an idea where we could get these kinds of scarves? I'm in the UK and they aren't that popular, but knitting patterns I could throw my mums way to help or any other source would be awesome!

You are so right about certain birds not being interested in going for walks in a harness/sling. I’ve got a bonded white ringneck dove and she hates harnesses but we have a large carrier that she enjoys being carried in. She falls asleep while I carry her and lots of people stop and ask me about her

@@Dark-ct6mz it is, but I often just clip it directly to the flyper instead of using the Velcro. Though the velcro is pretty sturdy in its own right
