I am voting Lead Sled brother, my 53 Hudson Jet is going to be a gasser.. If I had been able to find a reasonable full size Hudson it would have been full on sled

Jets are cool brother, always wanted one and I think a jet would be a bad ass gasser! I'm leaning towards sled on this one I feel like it's better suited low and long, now on the other hand I do have a 47 Studebaker starlight coupe I'm definitely gassing in the future!

Man that’s so cool! I vote for lead sled. But first, I’d love to see you put some tires on it(just to help it look prouder and stoke the vision). In the meantime, maybe do a really deep scrubbing/pressure wash inside and out…and sort through all that trim in the trunk. (Maybe the door handles are back there!🤷‍♂️)

I'm going to say resto-mod. Keep the body and interior as stock as possible and give it a Ford or Chevy drivetrain. Maybe some A/C.power windows and a kickass sound system,and drive the steelies off of her! JMHO

This is a last year Hudson before the Nash merger and it has the "step-down" design--very desirable. These were expensive cars in the day. So, if your budget allows I'd do a lead sled custom cruiser to make the most of that "step-down" design. Save the gasser idea for a '52-'55 Ford that is going to be a field find. This car is worth way more than that just in its provenance.

The engine bay was set up for an in-line 6 since Hudson never had a V-8. I'd consider a nice Ford 6 or Chrysler Slant 6. Also, see if the face plate of one of your Hudson radios will fit on this car's dash. Very cool and rare find!@@rockatanskyrodshop8533
