once i took a bus from Barcelona to strasbourgh at night (kind of 14 hours) in the well known bus line 'eurolines' , never again as some people take farm animals and other similar stuff with themselves, then i prefer airplanes. in mexico buses are generally the best option, unless you travel more than 15 hours

we had a big smile on our face the entire time watching this hahaha because we went through the exact same thought process!! Seriously Mexican buses are more advanced than Canadian buses, BY FAR! Individual screens, that flippy leg thing to lie comfortably, CLEAN bathrooms with toilet paper... AND a drink with snacks!!! Can't get over it!! Great video we really enjoyed it Jon :D

Depends on what line you use to travel. In my state we have a local line that only travels within the peninsula and it has been getting worst by the year :/ we're paying "deluxe treatment" when the things that made it vip were taken from us this year (private waiting room, coffee, snacks and so). You just need to ask someone who is a local that travels more than once a year to see which line is better to make your travel experience better.

I was going to say the same, ETN individual seats are like first class seats in an airplane not kidding, they are more expensive however if you purchase your tickets on line you often get a discount, you should try it in the next trip, I haven't seen a blog talking about ETN busses

Mexico has a great bus system (domestic air fare is rather high in Mexico even for short distances unlike Europe or the US ) so this is partly way the bus network runs so well... primera plus is ranked behind in luxury to the ETN brand they are similar in many way but some of primera plus buses are older

Andres Reyes we Also have better buses than other countries cause we don’t have passenger trains here in Mexico. So we either have to travel by plane or hit the roads.

Love the video, but that is not even what I’d call luxury class, it’s one below. ADO (largest bus company in Mexico) has 4 classes, AU (regional economy), Primera (first class, direct), GL (like yours), and Platino. Biggest difference is that they have a 1-2 seat configuration, which gets you wider seats, and also they have fewer rows, which allows the seat so recline like 160° or something like that (yes, almost flat). On top of the snack bag, in your seat you’ll find a small pillow and blanket. Same deal with the 2 bathrooms, but they also have a cafeteria! It’s pretty much a water dispenser with both hot and cold water, and you get your pick between coffee and teas. Nice if you take one overnight or early in the morning and you want your caffeine. Hopefully you get a chance to get on one of those, but in the meantime I wait anxiously for your Guadalajara videos.

One tip for all visitors that use the buses here in Mexico. This RARELY happens (usually on cheaper buses) but never accept free drinks/food from other passengers, even if it looks like they've never been opened. Thieves put something on the drink to make you fall asleep and they just take your stuff, even luggage. Lately, buses like Primera Plus/ETN, have security standards to prevent any kind of problems related to robberies, so, overall they are pretty much safe to travel :) Just a friendly advice.

Last month I took buses in Mexico to Queretaro, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, SLP, Guadalajara, Morelia, DF. I took Primera Plus, but I didn't think they were that luxurious, except for the price. I did appreciate the fairly clean restrooms and tolerable temperature control, plus the snack, which is a nice touch. The roads were all toll roads, so they were all in very good shape, much like the interstates in the US. I charged all my bus tickets to my credit card, so it made it easier not to have to carry all that cash, but there is a foreign transaction fee for each charge. The buses do have good leg room and have the flip down leg support in case you want to recline the seat. Most trips had wifi the whole route, maybe one time there was no wifi at all.

If you really go exploring, you'll find that there is a great diversity of bus services in Mexico. Even within the same class (e.g. second class), the services not only vary greatly, but the quality of service also varies.

I recently discovered that the price of the bus is equal to the price for a ticket aeroplane. I dare to say that in some cases the aeroplane it's cheaper , but I believe that the experience of freedom provided by the views is invaluable. Imagine all the places that you're not going to enjoy just because you want to "save time".

@cbt117 I'm not trying to be smart, it is a fact ! The brand has everything to do with that are you comfy or not. It's like sitting in a car that are you more comfy sitting a big grande Cadillac or a small MINI or whatever, you hopefully get the point. In Mexico they do have ok the tourist busses being very nice that;s why I made that point. Ok, enough said now, I'm sure if you are honest to yourself you know what I'm talking about so don't call me being a smart boy no, I'm just like you a human being that hopefully understand what's not so good and what's so much better. That's not a luxury bus, my friend. You should try the double decker ETN busses. You'll have enough space for your legs, they have leather seats, and what I like the most is that they have three rows of seats: two seats together and one for the people that love personal space and travel solo.

Next time try ETN/Turistar!, Seats are basically a bed due to they've fit 3 seats each row instead of 4, and there are fewer lines of seats, therefore, Seats are wider and you can recline your self much more. I did the 6 hours trip to Mexico city in one of those from SLP and it was great. Same entertainment and snacks also. Peace.

I used to ride on La Primera Plus, its nice and affordable, but, my favorite it's ETN, luxurious, quiet, sometimes you forget you're in a moving bus, many times I had to look through the window to see if we were moving, and we were, but you don't feel it. super comfortable, 2 restrooms and a kitchenette, they provide pillows and snacks. But yes, it's expensive. I take it for long trips to Mexico city. I recommended it, also Omnibus del Norte.

I have never used a bus in the US but I used two in Canada from Hamilton to Toronto and another from Toronto to the Pearson Airport (it picked us at the hotel at 2am or something) and while it was a really nice bus it was nothing compared to the ones in Mexico.

YES! I love these buses! I statted riding them since I was 4 years old back in 2006 or 2007, I went to Durango Mexico from Jaurez Mexico. Alot of change with these busses throughout the decades. I always rode Chihuahuenses, Turistar, and Omnibus De Mexico, Omnibus De Mexico Plus My favorite would be Omnibus De Mexico Pretty comfortable for a 14 hour ride

Great review, fellow Mexican traveler here, so far I been in at least 4 states in 3 months and every time I travel in these buses the experience is amazing and they are so comfortable, ac plugs, wifi in the actual bus! movies, plus snacks! and from a money perspective its not that expensive to travel in Mexico via bus, overall I love the experience, put my headphones on and I'm good boi!!!! just me and my thoughts enjoying the view and scenery, buses in the U.S. sucks, tbh, from Las Vegas to Los Angeles usually takes about 4 hours, in the Greyhound buses about 7 I was up to here and so uncomfortable, hated it, but good job buddy showing a side of Mexico not a lot of people actually know of, cheers!

I went on one over there and It was way nicer and had people walk and ask what we wanted. They gave a free sandwich and a soda. I sat in the front with a huge window and the most room and I was just watching movies!!! And we also went to quadalarta but before we went their we were at Pruto viatha I didn't spell that right, but we stayed at Grand Mayan

There are actually better buses than that you showed, not bad at all, but you should try ETN; those have only three rows of couches similar to the ones of a VIP movie theatre (remember Cinepolis?) and better snacks.

I wouldn't say Primera Plus is luxury, at least according to my wife, ADO Platino IS LUXURY. They have a special waiting room at the station and far more leg room between seats (because seats almost go all the way down to 180°). They have other perks like WiFi, screens and places where you can charge your electronic devices. Sure, the tickets are far more expensive (wife says they cost around 1500 pesos each) and availability of ADO Platino depends on your destination.

I've travel in buses in both the US and Mexico and honestly the buses in the US are shitty at best compared to those in Mexico. (Yes talking to you, the greatest bus company in the US, Greyhound) Probably in Mexico if they see a bus like greyhound, people might rather lose their ticket and not get in it, and of course would never buy a ticket from them again 😀

You should go to Zapotlanejo about 30 minutes east of Guadalajara and Tepatitlan about 45 mins - an hour east of Guadalajara. They have buses going to those towns every 30 minutes from bus station terminal 7.

Yes, the luxury buses in Mexico are very good. Some have WiFi service too and plugs so you can charge your devices. I took a bus in the US once (San Antonio to Dallas ride) and it was really bad. Very uncomfortable and no amenities at all. I don’t know if there are luxury services there.

I've taken both ETN and Primera Plus, and yes, I agree that ETN is more spacious. But the difference is by no means night and day. However, if you compare Primera Plus to the Greyhound buses in the U.S., no doubt that executive and first-class buses in Mexico blow Greyhound out of the water.

Ni en Estados Unidos ni Europa ni en Asia son iguales, que privilegio poder viajar cómodo y barato. Podrían viajar próximamente por ETN y comparar !! Saludos y que bueno que salieron de mi tierra San Luis Potosí.
