once i took a bus from Barcelona to strasbourgh at night (kind of 14 hours) in the well known bus line 'eurolines' , never again as some people take farm animals and other similar stuff with themselves, then i prefer airplanes. in mexico buses are generally the best option, unless you travel more than 15 hours

Depends on what line you use to travel. In my state we have a local line that only travels within the peninsula and it has been getting worst by the year :/ we're paying "deluxe treatment" when the things that made it vip were taken from us this year (private waiting room, coffee, snacks and so). You just need to ask someone who is a local that travels more than once a year to see which line is better to make your travel experience better.

Mexico has a great bus system (domestic air fare is rather high in Mexico even for short distances unlike Europe or the US ) so this is partly way the bus network runs so well... primera plus is ranked behind in luxury to the ETN brand they are similar in many way but some of primera plus buses are older

Andres Reyes we Also have better buses than other countries cause we don’t have passenger trains here in Mexico. So we either have to travel by plane or hit the roads.

Love the video, but that is not even what I’d call luxury class, it’s one below. ADO (largest bus company in Mexico) has 4 classes, AU (regional economy), Primera (first class, direct), GL (like yours), and Platino. Biggest difference is that they have a 1-2 seat configuration, which gets you wider seats, and also they have fewer rows, which allows the seat so recline like 160° or something like that (yes, almost flat). On top of the snack bag, in your seat you’ll find a small pillow and blanket. Same deal with the 2 bathrooms, but they also have a cafeteria! It’s pretty much a water dispenser with both hot and cold water, and you get your pick between coffee and teas. Nice if you take one overnight or early in the morning and you want your caffeine. Hopefully you get a chance to get on one of those, but in the meantime I wait anxiously for your Guadalajara videos.

One tip for all visitors that use the buses here in Mexico. This RARELY happens (usually on cheaper buses) but never accept free drinks/food from other passengers, even if it looks like they've never been opened. Thieves put something on the drink to make you fall asleep and they just take your stuff, even luggage. Lately, buses like Primera Plus/ETN, have security standards to prevent any kind of problems related to robberies, so, overall they are pretty much safe to travel :) Just a friendly advice.
@crw75397 жыл бұрын
Last month I took buses in Mexico to Queretaro, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, SLP, Guadalajara, Morelia, DF. I took Primera Plus, but I didn't think they were that luxurious, except for the price. I did appreciate the fairly clean restrooms and tolerable temperature control, plus the snack, which is a nice touch. The roads were all toll roads, so they were all in very good shape, much like the interstates in the US. I charged all my bus tickets to my credit card, so it made it easier not to have to carry all that cash, but there is a foreign transaction fee for each charge. The buses do have good leg room and have the flip down leg support in case you want to recline the seat. Most trips had wifi the whole route, maybe one time there was no wifi at all.

If you really go exploring, you'll find that there is a great diversity of bus services in Mexico. Even within the same class (e.g. second class), the services not only vary greatly, but the quality of service also varies.

In Mexico they do have ok the tourist busses being very nice that;s why I made that point. Ok, enough said now, I'm sure if you are honest to yourself you know what I'm talking about so don't call me being a smart boy no, I'm just like you a human being that hopefully understand what's not so good and what's so much better. Next time try ETN/Turistar!, Seats are basically a bed due to they've fit 3 seats each row instead of 4, and there are fewer lines of seats, therefore, Seats are wider and you can recline your self much more. I wouldn't say Primera Plus is luxury, at least according to my wife, ADO Platino IS LUXURY. They have a special waiting room at the station and far more leg room between seats (because seats almost go all the way down to 180°). They have other perks like WiFi, screens and places where you can charge your electronic devices. Sure, the tickets are far more expensive (wife says they cost around 1500 pesos each) and availability of ADO Platino depends on your destination.

I've travel in buses in both the US and Mexico and honestly the buses in the US are shitty at best compared to those in Mexico. (Yes talking to you, the greatest bus company in the US, Greyhound) Probably in Mexico if they see a bus like greyhound, people might rather lose their ticket and not get in it, and of course would never buy a ticket from them again 😀

You should go to Zapotlanejo about 30 minutes east of Guadalajara and Tepatitlan about 45 mins - an hour east of Guadalajara. They have buses going to those towns every 30 minutes from bus station terminal 7.

I travel on buses in multiple Latin American Countries. Buses in LATAM is soo comfortable, with generous legroom, wifi, tv, music. But depends on the operator but the majority have great leg room and Wifi.

The express buses between larger towns and Seoul in South Korea are similar. Buses between small towns will be more like ordinary city buses.

Yes, the luxury buses in Mexico are very good. Some have WiFi service too and plugs so you can charge your devices. I took a bus in the US once (San Antonio to Dallas ride) and it was really bad. Very uncomfortable and no amenities at all. I don’t know if there are luxury services there.

Argentina has the best first class bus system. Leather seats with full recline. Movies. Brandy. Chocolates. Food.

You must go to San Miguel El Alto, is an small town near by Guadalajara, architectural jewel of Los Altos de Jalisco. Once there you have to go to Rincon Taurino and La Mezcalita.

Nah, ETN are better

I've taken both ETN and Primera Plus, and yes, I agree that ETN is more spacious. But the difference is by no means night and day. However, if you compare Primera Plus to the Greyhound buses in the U.S., no doubt that executive and first-class buses in Mexico blow Greyhound out of the water.

when we go to mexico, we ride primera plus which is the bus you guys are on. My first time on it, i was all like "I feaking love this bus". We got food, you can raise your legs, and watch a movie.

We've got pretty good long distance busses in the UK but not with tv's. That's a nice touch especially if your travelling with young ones.

Try Estrella Roja from Mex city airport to Puebla. I rode in one that had black leather seats that were so comfortable. I don't think all of them are like that but that's something to look into next time you are there.
