The only luxury class bus line we've ridden in Mexico is ETN, we thought we'd end up trying some other bus companies, but other fellow travelers who have tried other bus lines are telling us ETN is the best, so we'll stick with ETN until we have a practical reason to try another company

ETN buses have 3 seats across...2 seats on one side and 1 seat on the other, compared to most buses that seat 4 people across...does anyone know if there are any other bus lines in Mexico that only seat 3 across?

I used to love taking the bus on trips. Airplanes are great when you gotta get there fast, but buses are more laid back and, like you said the views are wonderful. Trains are also nice, but I would love to go on a luxury bus trip. CG, you really make me wish I could go on a trip. And I always would sit in the front of the bus be it for travel or back when I was young and on the good ol' school bus😂

30 something years ago I took a bus from Guanajuato to I frankly don't remember where. I had the same impression back then. Very nice, spacious, clean. I've taken the TicaBus from Costa Rica to Nicaragua and Panama both round trip and enjoyed it, but they're not as spacious or as clean as this bus. I prefer all of them to Greyhound.
@SlowpokeTravel5 жыл бұрын
When I was a younger man I used to take the Greyhound all over the USA. I did a lot of seasonal resort work back then, and there were' quite a few times I rode Greyhound from Florida to Idaho, which was about a 64 hour bus ride...I don't think I could hack that trip nowadays.

When I went to the Philippines, we rode little bus-like van/trucks that sat around 15 people knee-to-knee all cramped in the back. It was definitely an experience. This would have been a lot nicer, for sure. Off-topic, but are y'all thinking about doing the Appalachian Trail again? Maybe a more relaxed version. It would be nice to see a revamp of the old AT vlogs!
@SlowpokeTravel5 жыл бұрын
I would so love to that--especially while my knees are still interested (I hope they're still interested). I hope we get to the Phillipines one day! Although I don't think I will love the heat--I was even whining about the heat in Puerto Vallarta...I need to toughen up. I thought we might be hiking again this summer 'cause we were talking about it just before Christmas, but since then we've lined up a couple of house sits that will take us through until the fall, so it's looking less likely to happen this year. I used to go on long distance hikes pretty regularly when I was younger, but my weight used to fluctuate a lot more back then, so I'd basically get so big I'd just decide to go hiking until I trimmed down to a reasonable size. I've hiked and re-hiked so many sections of the AT over the years, but I've never hiked Maine, so my plan is to always return.
@SophiaPetrillosBuddy5 жыл бұрын
@@SlowpokeTravel If you ever go to the Philippines, my family has a house that I might be able to convince them into letting you use. And the heat's not so bad. It's pretty comparable to Florida with the humidity and whatnot. I hope you guys get to hiking soon while you're still able to enjoy it, but I'm sure you both have plenty of time.

Is it safe to travel by bus ??
@SlowpokeTravel3 жыл бұрын
we took the major bus lines between large cities and we never had an issue or even the inkling of an issue. I think we used the same bus service --ENT-- for the 3 long bus trips we took, and we were very happy with the experience

we packed up in Seattle a little over 2 years ago, and we've been roaming since then...not sure where we'll end up long term, but for right now we're just enjoying the short-term planning and seeing new places.

Have you had any food/water issues in Mexico as far as illness? Tips?
@SlowpokeTravel5 жыл бұрын
No we haven't had any issues...but we've been pretty adamant about only drinking filtered water, although for a few weeks CG was washing her mouth out in the sink after brushing her teeth, but she doesn't do that any longer...we've also been treating the produce we buy from the market with an anti-microbial rinse when we bring the stuff home. I'm happy, and kind of surprised we haven't had any issues, since I do generally tend to go through a phase where I'm not feeling great when I do travel, but it hasn't happened so far. I shouldn't jinx myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if I get sick when we return to the US...I figure sooner or later my body's gonna say "Okay, I'm tired of all this running around!"

hey, who was doing the filming today? Did you hire a Mexican jumping bean? They moved around so much I felt like I was inside a bus in Mexico. Not so easy to do the filming, is it? HA. Just kidding Buck. CG did a great job with the narration. The double-decker was cool. very clean too. Now that I am a geezer I can ride the local bus for a dollar with a free transfer. I don't think my bus will be as nice as yours but mine comes with a free urban reality show.
