Hi Kelly, with my first child I had the problem that we just didnt harmonize in breastfeeding, so I also had to take bottles everywhere. Child 2 and 3 did participate in breastfeeding perfectly, so it is some time ago I had to take botteles with me. I had different options: First there are portable sterilising tools (for the top part of the bottle or menstruanional cups 😂). I had one of these devices you can charge via USB. Another option when storing space is limited is to take some top parts (sorry I am german and dont know the Word for the Part Baby Uses for suction) in a zip bag with you. You can clean the bottle itself with water and change the top Part. For water i used to take a thermos bottle with me and the milk powder in a tupper device that is departet and allows you to pack the exact amount of powder per area. I hope it makes what I am trying to Tell. I didnt speak english for a long time.

I’m not sure where you are in Tokyo but I used to take my son to a lot of shopping centres and Ikea when it was hot. Why? Air conditioning. I lived in Western Tokyo so IKEA was a close place where we could let our kids play for “free.”

Buy single packages of formula that you mix I’m with hot water from a thermos. You can always clean out your bottles with he sterile boiled wateR you store in the thermos. I did this when my youngest was a baby in China and we travelled there when she was 7.5 months. And most of all don’t worry. Babies will cry it’s ok. If you travel when your kids are young, they will be great later,. My kids could pull their take on bags through security at three at the airport. Oh and I loved my Ergo baby carrier. They are the best.

Oh wow I guess it’s been a while since one of your videos have popped up! The last one I think I saw was when you got married. So, late baby congratulations!! I’m bringing my younger girls (0,4) this summer to scout neighborhoods and stuff in Tokyo and Osaka to decide where to live. And then going to see grandma and grandpa in Iriomote. Thanks for the baby tips!

Hi Kelly! I have a suggestion, but not sure how much it would help. when I had my baby and was trying to breast and bottle feed, one of the ways to sanitize things was to clean them with vinegar and water. You said there are areas for nursing babies there with water. just carry Yuna's bottle, her formula and a small jug of vinegar, and when you need to refresh the bottle just put one part Vinegar to the water and swish it about and its a natural way to clean the baby's bottles.

I loved your video! It gives me confidence in traveling to Japan with my 11month baby. I heard from a friend in Tokyo that strollers have to be fold in escalators. And also Inwonder if have a narrow/slim traveling stroller would be better than my nuna mix with big wheels. I wondrr if youguys found enough elevators to go around with stroller once there..(?) ❤thanks for your video

You can use Milton liquid sanitizing fluid to sanitize on the go. They have tablets you need to dissolve and also ready to use fluid. The issue is finding a place to let it sit long enough in the sanitizing fluid. For a daytrip in your car, not much of a problem. For trips by train or plane, not so easy. We had to use those accordion style 1 use disposable bottles for the international flight home from Japan and back. I forget what they're called but you can easily find them in baby stores in Japan like Akachan Honpo. I tried using some bottle bags but they didn't work well at all for mixing purposes. So if you go the bag route, you'd still need a formula mixing bottle which kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe the bags I used were no good but it was the only kind I could find in Japan. Also, you don't really need to use hot water for the formula anyway - especially the type you're using in this video since it's designed to dissolve even in cold water. It is safe to just bring a bottle of room temp. Baby water and use solely that. But if your little one is picky and won't drink formula unless it's warm, that might not be an option for you.

if japan sells them, denture tablets are great, pop one in a bottle with warm water for 30 mins+, then rinse 😁

Hey Kelly, for my formula feeding baby - i bring a thermal flask (Tiger/Zojirushi brand is v reputable & good),milk powder into milk storage compartments container(avent/munchkin brand - sometimes i store milk powder in the disposal milk powder sachets so i could bring more milk out instead of being limited to a standard 3/4 compartment container. Every time i use water, i just pop by nursing room to top up warm water for the next feed. For bottle washing, i just washed them w hot water. You cn bring sterilizing tablets too. After 6mths, u dont have to sterilize the bottles - according to recommended guide lines. Xx, Leia frm Singapore
