Brionna Joose Thank you for pointing this out. Absolutelyyy correct. I’ve worked in customer service, over the phone, for years. It is always being recorded by the company usually, especially if any type of card numbers are being given, but the employee can never hear you when music is playing. When that shit is dead silent though, they absolutely have just muted themselves and have walked away from the phone or are sitting there trying to figure some shit out, lol.

Wow that looked incredibly easy 😂 my 1 year old pitbull mix REFUSES to have his nails clipped. We tried treats, we tried getting him tired at the dog park, cutting one nail at a time in his sleep, we tried touching his paw with a soft toothbrush to get him use to the idea of something touching his feet, we tried taking him to a professional and then our last resort was to hold him down with three people and that didn’t work. The ONLY thing that I have gotten to work at all is cutting them after a bath while he is still in the bathtub, he doesn’t struggle around because he is too scared to fall so he doesn’t move a whole lot.

I honestly do the same thing with both of my tiny pups. They only weigh 8 lbs and if I didn't clip theirs in the bath, it still takes 3 grown people to handle them. The thing is, they don't try to bite us, just the clippers. XD

I’m going to try this!! My corgi puppy HATES getting his nails trimmed. He howls like I’m cutting off his foot and squirms and grunts to get out of my arms like his life depends on it. It’s so dramatic! I know it doesn’t hurt bc one time he was distracted by the cat for a split second and I cut one. He didn’t even notice. But he also hates baths and tries to jump out constantly, so it might not go so well..

Try giving him Benadryl! It worked with my dog after trying everything. I gave him the Benadryl and 30 mins later wrap him up in a blanket like a burrito with a little slit for one paw to come out. The first few times he still tried to fight it but he was very sleepy so he couldnt squirm away anymore. It doesnt knock them out, just relaxes them. Which is good cause after doing it like that several times, he learned that it's really not that bad. Now I dont have to give him the pill, just wrap him up and make him cozy!

I use a Dremel tool with the sand paper attachment to grind the nails of my Beagle and Lab, Works great because I never get their quick, I get closer than what I would with the clippers, and it leaves a smooth edge. You should try it out some time Julien!

KERMIT IS MY SPIRIT ANIMAL I love the dremel. It takes a little while for doggers to get used to the noise, but after that it’s great! If you happen to get a little too close to the quick the friction solders it closed. I’ll never cut dog nails with clippers again.

Y'all so nice to your dogs lol. My dogs are little demons when you do their nails. I bring out the dremel (to grind their nails after the clip) and the run from me. They gotta get held down most of the time lol. Side note don't use those kind of clippers because it actually more like squashes the nail. Verses the other kind that slice like butter. That's probably why Cermet doesn't like it because it makes a weird pressure.

GhoulishGal My Shadow gets the dremel instead of clipping. It’s just nicer...according to the groomer. I did my German shedder, but poodle grooming is not in my abilities. Something super useful I learned after working in a grooming salon for a long time is, look at the actual nail where you’re cutting. Go slow when cutting the nail, and when you need to stop you’ll see a black dot right in the center of the nail, that is the quick. Once you see that dot, don’t take the nail any further. Also have QuikStop on hand, it’ll be a life saver because accidents happen

Hey Julien, part of my job is trimming dog nails, and theirs are a bit long! My advice is to use a dremmel instead of clippers, something I never knew existed until I started working with dogs. It's a lot easier and safer. I can't really tell in the video but if their quicks are long trimming the nail down often will make the quick start going back. When you clip/dremmel the nail you want to get as close to the quick as you can without touching it :) If you're worried about hitting the quick you can buy powder that stops the bleeding in case of emergency or you can also use corn starch.

Awww, Jenna, I relate to the crying so much! I got my cat only a couple months before COVID hit and I lost my job. I had to trim her nails, and she didn't trust me yet, and I'd moved us in with my sister, which she didn't appreciate either. I hadn't even squeezed the clippers once yet, there's no way I hurt her, but she made a noise like she was dying, and I was so on edge, I let her go and burst into tears. Then my furry monster turned around and bit me! Like "I told you, no!" 😂 (She didn't bite hard enough to draw blood - she just wanted it clear that was Not Okay.) I don't have a Julien, so I kept practicing after we both calmed down. I particularly like the KZbin vid by Vancouver Vet on nail trimming cats, it is helpful and soothing. Using nail clippers meant for humans, and starting the trim when she was sleeping helped a lot too. Now, she has literally purred through a whole nail trim. 🥰
