Congratulations on this masterpiece, please give me your brutal honest thoughts on how hot it gets in traffic and how is the dry clutch compared to wet ones, i have a pretty good deal on brand new sp2 but i am not sure how well the dry clutch will behave for daily riding. Thanks.
@KDPcycles

Thank you! Total honest opinion... As long as you can swallow the cost of the clutch roughly every 3k miles, then it's the GOAT street bike. It's smooth, so easy to flick around, the brakes give you so much confidence.. The gearing is totally wack for street riding, you only need 1-2-3 really. also you'll always be speeding. The other thing to note, the clutch pull on the dry clutch is noticeably heavier compared to the wet clutch, so traffic might suck! Always use the auto shifter! The dry clutch behaves like an on/off switch. It is cool to feel the individual plates grabbing though, the mechanical feel it provides is top

@@KDPcycles really appreciate your quick detailed reply, and i got everything you said perfectly, i guess listens to ppl without trying first hand is my biggest issue, but man you really SHOCKED ME 🫨🫨 3k miles to change the dry clutch???!!! 🫠🫠🫠🫠 Is it for those who ride on track or for all riders in general ?!! I ride only on streets and my riding style is really gentle, is it really 3k miles change, and how much it is ??? Thanks, would appreciate your answer.

@@TIMHARTTT I'm sitting next to the service interval sheet. This is what the dealer gave me when I purchased the bike. First service: "around 620 miles"-oil change, bolts torqued, chain cleaned/ lubed. Oil service: Every "7,500 miles"- filter, oil,air filter check. Valve Service: "Every 15,000 miles"- Valve check and adjustment, spark plug replacement Dry Clutch Service; "Every 3,000 miles- "Inspect/check, replace" To answer your question about if track riding vs street would effect the clutch wear. My guess is yes, it probably is going to wear faster. But I don't know which it is, track or street. My head thinks that using the auto shifter is the best thing for it. it will shift near perfect every time. If you have a long slow clutch pull, you're increasing the time that the clutch is under 100 gripping force, I hope that makes sense. My bike is at 1600 miles and most of them are on track, so I have yet to face changing it. My intention is to inspect at 3,000 just to get a look. I'll replace before then if I feel any slipping as it should be pretty easy to smell and notice. Again haven't done that yet, but I think it's like $300-$500

Hows the wind... i have a 959 but want to trade for one. Only worry is how the wind is as there are a lot of highway by me b4 the twisty
@KDPcycles
@KDPcycles Жыл бұрын
Honestly it's super manageable. The only time it bothers me is 130mph+ which is just what I expect on a naked bike. This bike Is really easy and forgiving to tuck into which makes it easy to get out of the wind.
@PleadTheFifth_Racing
@PleadTheFifth_Racing Жыл бұрын
I've been meaning to ask, since I have not ridden one of these yet but ordered one....is the wind at higher speeds really all that bad? Like doing 60-140 pulls totally realistic? Some of the review make it sound like anything over 100 the wind makes speed untenable.
@KDPcycles
@KDPcycles Жыл бұрын
If you compare it to something like the Multistrada, the wind definitely will play a factor in riding, especially after some time in the saddle. If you go in expecting it to be a naked bike, then it's not a big deal at all in my opinion. I'd say the wind gets "bad" at 120+. The bike has a really good pocket for you to tuck into and you can escape the wind, you just have to ride full tuck. Unless you are sticking your chest in the wind at 140, it's not bad. Those speeds are the only time you'll really miss having a little windshield to tuck behind.

@@KDPcycles Thanks for the quick response man! That confirms what I figured it would be like. I have an Africa Twin that you have to push 6th gear to get much past 100mph but even then I could stand up full body to the wind and not have to much struggle. Have you seen any leaking between the oil pan and block? MotoMillion seemed to have some trouble with their V4 SP2 along with some other owners. I guess it was enough of an issue for them to have a custom gasket made that they new retail. Keep the content coming man, really enjoying it and I plan to do some video once mine comes in. Gonna miss the 900whp Subaru but the sensation of speed/power on a bike is just on another level.

@@PleadTheFifth_Racing Thanks for asking questions! I'm happy to help and share any info that I can! I have seen that issue on their bike! I cannot say that I have experienced anything like that. I know the water pumps are a known weak point as well, I have not been effected by either. I am currently dealing with a fuel pump problem though, the bike is at the dealer for a warranty now. (videos soon on that). Thanks for watching and the support!! It really means a lot and is awesome to hear

@@KDPcycles Funny you mention the fuel pump, I just saw something about that yesterday on Facebook. They mentioned they had cleaned the injectors and replaced the pump but were still having issues I think. They were starting to troubleshoot the harness next, if I'm not mistaken. Some of the comments mentioned material from the lining of the fuel tank breaking free and clogging injectors. Bikes are not like cars, they are produced in such small numbers compared to cars any issues really get a spot light. Best of luck with the fueling issue, hopefully they can get it resolved quickly. I'm a little nervous about ownership just because the nearest dealership is 2 hours away.

@@PleadTheFifth_Racing I'm hoping to have it back in the next few days if all goes well. I'm starting to second guess if I ever had the bike at full power, looking back at some of my footage now and it's obvious I didn't in some situations. That is true, issues definitely come into the light a lot brighter then with some car platforms. Great news is there is usually a ton of info on whatever issue you're having. I think that's the worst part of Ducati ownership, they really want you on that dealer drip now a days

Hey. I'm thinking of upgrading from my 21 MT-09 SP to the V4S. Is there really no fuel gauge and cruise control on the Streetfighter? Thanks.
@KDPcycles
@KDPcycles Жыл бұрын
That is true, they give you a low fuel warning light, which gives you about 30 miles to empty. I think the only Ducati's to come with cruise control are the multistrada and maybe the diavel
@tsarnevits
@tsarnevits Жыл бұрын
@@KDPcycles Thanks for the fast reply. Roger, I think I could live with the no fuel gauge, but having had cruise control before on longer journeys really makes not having it a bummer. Got to hope they maybe start implementing it in the following years. Does not having CC bother you at all? And if I haven't tired you enough already... :D How would you compare the V4S to the M1000R (I hear that has super wobbles at higher speeds, yet the screen, fuel gauge and CC are there), the SD 1290 R Evo ("better" price + CC and the fuel gauge) and the Tuono 1100 Factory? Cheers.
@KDPcycles
@KDPcycles Жыл бұрын
@@tsarnevits To me the fuel gauge isn't that big of a deal to me, I just track the miles with the trip and pay attention to the light. As for cruise control I just got one of those "go cruise" bars that wedge the throttle open, for $30 I'm gonna see what it's about. Not having cruise isn't the end of the world, I think it's worth the sacrifice. I think the M1kR is one heck of a bike, on paper it has all the bells and whistles, it has the power, the looks. Bmw makes a great bike, but the Ducati has soul to it. Idk if that's a good way to express it, it's more engaging as a rider. The riding aids on the Duc are second to none and really are incredible. You get less luxury features, just because they are designed with the track in mind really. After riding the SD 1290 R evo, I would take the v4 over it. Although it's a tremendous bike and a total hooligan to ride around. I think the v4 is a bit smoother and more refined. I do like the the Touno too. I think it's one of the best compromises between comfort and tech. I have not ridden the Touno or the M1k, but I still think I'd take the V4. There's just something about being on a Ducati.

How's the clutch feel with the dry clutch? I've made up my mind to pick up a Streetfighter V4S or SP2 this year but I am unable to test ride them (my left leg is partially paralyzed and I have to use an adaptive electric shifter that actuates the foot shifter).
@KDPcycles
@KDPcycles Жыл бұрын
The dry clutch feels a lot heavier than a regular clutch The pull of the lever is much stiffer. For the most part it acts like you would expect. The auto blip shifter on these bikes are a life saver. It has you almost never engaging the clutch lever.

@@KDPcycles Thanks for the feedback! I can't decide between the 2023 SF V4S or the 2022 SF V4SP. There is a used 2022 V4SP with 400 miles on it at the dealership for the same price as a new SF V4S. I know the upgraded electronics, swing arm pivot move, and tank design changed but all the extra goodies that the SP comes with almost makes it worth it!
@KDPcycles
@KDPcycles Жыл бұрын
@@PleadTheFifth_Racing Of course! I'm happy to answer anything I can. Man that is a really tough choice. I don't know what I would take tbh. If the price is the same, it would come down to me how I was gonna ride the bike. If you intend on hitting the track, the SP might be the better option. If you're gonna ride the streets most of the time with an occasional track day, I'd take the '23 V4s. The dry clutch, while brilliant and unique will have you counting miles to replace it on the street. The tech upgrades is why I went with the SP2 over the SP, even at the price difference. Value retention will be higher on the SP as well, if you want to factor that in.
@PleadTheFifth_Racing

@@KDPcycles Once again, great feedback man! I already have a 900whp Subaru for a speed toy. I have a 2022 Africa Twin that is my "commuter bike." So which ever streetfighter I go with will just be a toy that I ride to work occasionally on sunny days, rip it on the Tail of the Dragon occasionally and maybe take it to the track but not regularly. Even if I went with the 2023 V4S I'd swap to the dry clutch which is a couple grand. Swapping a clutch everytime you change the oil isn't that big a deal to me honestly, its something I can do myself and they are not that expensive to refresh. Really good point on the value retention. Maybe I'll look for a 2023 V4SP and just bite the bullet on the extra cost. They I can have the best of all worlds.

@@PleadTheFifth_Racing Love to hear about your garage! It sounds awesome! I think if you're capable of doing the clutch change it isn't a big deal, one of the reasons it doesn't bother me that much. They say to inspect it every 3k miles according to service. I'm happy I went with the SP2 instead of the SP, the model year upgrades are worth it in my opinion. the dash alone is so much better.
