Hi! Lately I have been overlapping in my bitewings too much and yesterday I watched this video, today I tilted the cone a little bit and it opened my contacts more than they were before! If possible can you do a video specifically for preventing overlapping in more detail..

Hi Cheyenne, I love, love your tutorials! I still need help opening those contacts posterior bitewings. One of the dentists I work for wants to see open contacts between 2,and 3 and 4 or I think 2 and 3. Anyways, she also wants to see open contacts for the same area in a PA. And, I am really struggling, even after I watched this video. I think I was able to improve just a little after watching this video, but I still need help opening those contacts. Do you have more tips please?
@mariaph97004 жыл бұрын
Hey Ingrid. I am also a new student too. It seems like the issue you are having is overlapping. So to correct this, the best way is to adjust your horizontal PID placement. If you notice overlapping image, you should move your PID (the sensor cone) horizontally towards the part that is shown more overlapping. You can also to +10 angulation too see if it helps. For anterior PAs, my dentist sometimes ask to do a bitewing to correct the overlap because it is hard to open all contacts at the same time.
@ingridsaab54134 жыл бұрын
@@mariaph9700 , I tried all of the above, and I still get overlapping with the posterior bitewings. I am getting slightly better, but I'm still struggling 🤣😂

I’m a brand new DA. The office that externed at is super busy. We have at least 6 new patient exams an hour. I’m low man on the totem pole, so I’m supposed to be doing them. I always get confused on how I’m supposed to set up for the FMX. I always struggle and the dr wants someone else to take the xrays. I end up doing filings, extractions, rcts , just about anything other than xrays. I need practice but I don’t get it. Could you do a video on how to set the equipment up? Like placement of the bite block onto the stem? It would probably help me tremendously. Thanks!

@shaskins154 жыл бұрын
I used facial land marks. For canines, think "eye teeth" and line tube head up pointing down or up but in line with the eyes. For #3 and #14, you follow the zygomatic arch back... dont be afraid to ask the patient to open again, and use your hand and stand back to make that line for you. I would also have the patient open, and position the tube head, then the sensor holder, and then adjust the tube head slightly if needed. If you can ask someone for help in your office, that's gonna be your best resource. I worked in an office with no guides 5 years ago and the assistants taught me a lot but I'm kinda forgetting some things lol.
