Taking Enes Kanter Home | First Time in 6 Years

This is a very special story, and it involves my friend Enes Kanter Freedom who is a Center for the Boston Celtics. Due to political reasons, Enes has been unable to go back home (Istanbul, Turkey) in 6 years, nor been able to see or communicate with his family. On my last trip to Istanbul, during the start of the pandemic, I did a Facetime call with Enes and I took him on a walk through his old neighborhood. We went outside of his house, to the local Mosque, and even to his favorite restaurant.
Congratulations to Enes for (finally) becoming an American citizen and getting a U.S. passport -- and for changing your last name to Freedom. You are a legend and a role model, and I'm looking forward to seeing you again soon!

@@Ibomoto I don’t know enough about him. It was just a generalization. To be exiled from your own country where your family and ancestors came from would be tough. I don’t think that someone with opposing view points should be forced away. If there is violence or attempted violence against the country and its constitution or equivalent, than i think that should be the only reason in my opinion. To be exiled for your beliefs is petty. We should have thicker skin than that. “We” meaning people anywhere in the world.

Their ‘Freedom’ is the suffer of the innocent people they sentenced to prison in 2010 - 2011. All these people are proved to be innocent today but back then some killed themselves because they couldnt bare the insult and their kids lose their father and grow as orphan today. Tell Enes why your organization all that time stole the questions of Osym which is an entrance examination to put your fanatics in certain positions.
