Actually, many Turkish people who live in foreign countries think that President Erdogan is a dictator,ruthless, he has no sympathy of free speech,democracy . None of them is true . It's true that Erdogan isn't a completely evil dictator like some portray him as, that's why it's a complicated issue. He's drastically improved the economy and raised the standard of living for Turks, improved many government institutions, and has done more than any recent Turkish leader to fight poverty. On the other hand he has restricted freedom of speech and the rights of the press, he has pulled backed Secularism (which is what stopped Turkey from becoming like Iran or Saudi Arabia), he changed the constitution in ways that clearly grant him more power, and has purged many threats to his power even those not associated with Gulen. So it's a choice between a better life or more freedom and I can't really blame anyone for picking either one.
