That was cool of the first cop to give the young lady a chance. I pray that she makes the right decision. I'm a recovered alcoholic and drug abuser, and I'm literal proof that you CAN quit and move on with a better life. I didn't think I could, but I did. If anyone reading this is hooked on something, there is hope. Lots of hope and lots of help.

Congratulations to you. I know a sad case of a 50 year old mother of three. She’s been a heroin addict for about 25 years. She’s died and been revived. She had nothing to do with raising her kids. She Hepatitis. She’ll rob and steal anything to get drugs. She is again in drug court. She’s been in so many rehabs. I can’t believe she just never stops longer than a year. But she has nothing to lose now. And one of her sons is following in her footsteps. Very sad.

Soooo many stuck in addiction that want to quit every single day. Can't tell you how many times I tried to quit back in the day. You feel like your insides are falling out of every hole, the worst flu you've ever had, your bones hurt, you want to rip your skin off. But you know that one little fix will make it all better, going from feeling like you're dying to feeling good in an instant??? It's drowning for a week to a month or mor3 everyday and you gotta force yourself to say, "if I drown and die, I'll be able to breathe all the time instead of drowning every few hours."

@@MEGVTRON I can't speak to individual situations from this episode because I don't know the circumstances well enough but the "system" is so overloaded in some areas that they can't handle the influx of children coming into it. In my area of the country they are so desperate that the first thing the authorities look to is for a relative to take the children, not immediately call CPS. Even if CPS is called, the caseworker can immediately place with a relative rather than involving the "system" further. Officers are given wide discretion to place the children with a relative rather than involve CPS, theoretically they may come into play anyway as in order to get foster care money for the children's care CPS has to investigate the household but it is conceivable that someone like me who has enough money to care for children could end up with them and CPS never touching the situation. If the relatives don't need foster care money there is an alternate system called guardianship where the court makes a superficial inquiry and if no red flags are raised in their investigation the court confers guardianship of the children on the relatives with a superficial court hearing yearly to "monitor" the situation. The authorities don't mess around about removing children from an abusive or neglectful family but that does not necessarily mean CPS involvement, foster care or other services.

That first cop was more than decent to that meth girl. MORE than decent. And I can only hope that she took his advice, got clean, got back in school and is making something of herself, hopefully becoming a better parent. Who goes out at midnight to score some meth, leaving an 8 year old and a 2 year old alone in a house with only some random guy outside fixing a car? She's damn lucky that cop cut her a break. She owes it to him to take advantage of this opportunity. She won't get another chance like this one.

Well fast forward to now I got my home paid off , got 3 vehicles, all the tools and toys a man could ever want . I got an awesome career, a side hustle only thing I don't have is a wife. Well, some people speeding away from police do some things legal like signaling, stopping for stop signs, waiting at red lights, etc, to not add more charges. Anybody running away from police in a vehicle will have traffic violations added to charges involving running away from police. Some people speeding away from police have some level of care to avoid tacking on traffic violations. This is not the case most of the times.

@@martinaguilar5905 If you're running from police, I don't think that's what's going through your head. I honestly think it's just habit. You're committing a felony, so not using your turn signal is so insignificant. I've never seen someone who ran get charged with running a redlight or failure to use their turn signal. I've seen plenty of videos of people running who get charged for felony evasion, plus anything else such as possession or resisting arrest. Never for anything like running a stop sign or failure to use turn signals.

@@majorasothermask1258 here in California, especially Los Angeles, anybody running away from police in a vehicle do get traffic violations added to felony charges involving running away from police. Most of the times people running away on a vehicle do not care about anything else besides running away from police. Those who do follow traffic laws are uncommon but still face mandatory jail time. Los Angeles is known as the capital of police chases and weird police chases as well including police chases of a suspect who follow traffic laws as well as slow police chases. There was a police chase that was the longest in LAPD history lasting 6 hours going at a snail pace. Only LAPD add on the traffic violations on top of felony charges for any police chase even if the drivers was going at a snail pace.

It’s always hilarious when cops say “if you tell me where it is, I won’t have to search the whole car”. As though if someone hands over what they have the cop will say “ok, now I won’t bother searching the car”. It’s simply to solidify the case so it’s impossible to claim they didn’t know it was in the car. If you tell them it’s over. The ultimate outcome will be EXACTLY the same if you tell them or they find it.

That's not all it is.... It saves the officer a bunch of time digging, AND it gives the officer an idea about how truthful a person is. If that first woman HADN'T fessed up, she WOULD have went to jail, and her kids WOULD have been with CPS. Also, if you're truthful with an officer, most times they WILL inform the D.A. that you cooperated, and we're honest with him. That CAN go a long way during sentencing for your case. Maybe if you wised up just a bit, you'd realize how to be an adult, and the perks that come along with it. 🤷🏻

@RandyBoBandy. 11 ай бұрын
@@davelowets ok officer. I won’t elaborate on the complete insanity of the “drug war”. Making laws based on one persons definition of “intoxication” as opposed to another is idiotic. Regardless, had this woman simply invoked her right to remain silent, the cop never would’ve found it and she never would’ve been in that position. Was she irresponsible? Yes. Did this ordeal possibly set her onto a more health corse? Perhaps. I’m simply pointing out the fact that a police officer stating “let me know now or it’ll be worse if I have to find it” is complete nonsense. Prosecuting attorneys never speak to the arresting officer in low level arrests like this. They simply read the arrest reports and form plea bargains based on the defendants legal council and strength of the case. I’m simply pointing out that admitting and informing the location of contraband to a cop has absolutely zero effect on the end result. It’s exactly the same as field sobriety tests. The test are a tool for the prosecution. They have no bearing on the cops determination “to see where you’re at”. If asked to perform FST’s, it’s 99.999% decided you’re arrested. Having a completely subjective “test” to submit as evidence is very useful.

A license is required for driving on the road sure, but the license is tied to what class of vehicle you are driving - not to the fact that your driving on the road. Not sure about the US but you need B for bus, A/D/Z for trucks, G for cars, M for motorcycle, nothing for bicycle, etc. So she would either need an ATV license or no license at all to drive on the road. I am not sure what the ATV regulations say, but they may say you are prohibited or need any class license to drive on the road. A wise offroad-er would check the laws for ATV's in their jurisdiction. Depending what regulations/laws say, she may have a reason to get the ticket dismissed, and/or file suit against the officer for an unconstitutional stop. Not legal advice, always consult a lawyer.

God that woman crying when they took her dog was heartbreaking. It doesn't matter what ANYONE does, losing your dog hurts. Period. Plus as someone with ADD I really felt what she said about taking stimulants to self-medicate her ADHD. I used to have periods where I'd run out of my meds (Adderall) and the withdrawals were so bad that I did ANYTHING to stop them, including using illegal stimulants. When she said that speed (pretty much the same thing as Adderall) "normals me", it really hit home. Anyone else with ADHD will understand that statement and how ADHD meds/stimulants affect people like us. They make you feel like an average person for once, but they also grab onto you and make you forget how to survive without them.
